Hi guys,

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII that I'm wanting to part ways with. I've invested over 11,000$ worth of modifications that are on the car, well over 3000$ for professional installs and tunes of all the parts (Turbotrix NJ), and many hours of the car being worked on to assure that there is absolutely no problems with it.

Why am I selling it? A bunch of reasons actually. I've always LOVED NSX's and I figured this would be a good chance to get one. Having an NSX would also lower my insurance tons (i live in NJ, horrible rates as it is), be better with gas, more luxury, etc etc :)

Some info on it. I purchased the car in July of 2003 for just below 33,000$ out the door. The car is Apex Silver which has been polished and waxed every week since obtaining the car. The car came with a 3 year 45,000$ scheduled maintence package that includes oil changes and the likes. I've yet to have a problem because of my modifications on the car. I'm also located in central NJ.

Even with all of the power that this car has now, i've yet to break anything. Pretty much have babied this car and unfortunately it has yet to see a track day.

Here is the list of mods and amount i've invested next to each:

--RnR Racing 50trim t3/t40e turbokit (turbo, manifold, 3" o2 elim downpipe, 38mm Tial wastegate, fittings, etc) - 3200$
--AEM EMS standalone engine management system - 1850$
--Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IAT) 125$
--3.5bar MAP sensor -- No MAF 200$
--Dejontool 3" "No-MAF" intake 99$
--K&N Filter 45$
--GReddy 720cc injectors 499$
--GReddy Type-S BOV 250$
--B&B Full 3" Turboback with 3" cat-delete 1020$
--Hallman MBC set at 21psi safely for 93oct gas - 80$
--ClutchMasters Stage3 Clutch Kit - 760$
--Steel braided clutch line - 40$
--Redline MT-90 Transmission OIl - 30$
--Redline 75w90 Transfer case/rear differential gear oil - 30$
--Grounding kit - 20$
--Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump - 50$
--HKS 272/272 Camshafts - 850$ installed
--Buschur Racing front mount intercooler - 750$
--Buschur Racing upper intercooler piping - 300$
--Buschur Racing mini battery kit. 250$

Interior/Other mods:
--Metal shifter bushings - 60$
--Kartboy Short Shifter - 65$
--GReddy Turbo Timer - 120$
--Cusco oil catch can - 100$
--Ralliart "Evolution" aluminum scuff plates - 299$ imported from Japan

Exterior Mods:
--Evolution VIII Badge (UK) - 92$
--35% Charcoal tint (all windows) - 250$
--S2000 Shorty Atenna - 30$

Total equals nearly 1200$ not including 3 free years of complete scheduled maintence by my mitsu dealer which should be transferable to any other mitsu dealership.

The car dyno'd at turbotrix at 419awhp/346trq. This car will easily run mid 11's with a good driver and at the same time run circles around most in a roadcourse/autox on pump gas/stock tires.

What i'm looking for: I'm not really knowledgable on NSX prices for the most part, but a decently mile'd 92-96 preferably white but silver or black manual NSX. I'd say "good exterior and interior and engine condition", but that's sort of a given with these beautiful cars.

I love driving the car, but I have just too many bills to keep it.

Pics are here: http://www.cardomain.com/id/deceit . I'll have some interior shots up tomorrow.

Again, I can be reached at [email protected] or aim as awdshane.

Thanks guys!

I think you would probably be better off selling your EVO to an EVO enthusiast who is looking for all those things vs trading for a NSX. Most NSX owners could care less about an EVO (no offense meant - but you know what I mean as you want to get a NSX over the EVO).

If you can handle $45K for the NSX (which it sounds like from your evo price and mods that you can) I would recommend going for a 97 because you will get the 6-speed and larger engine. If you want to really mod the NSX, I would get a 91 with low mileage and go from there. There are a lot more performance options for OBDI cars.

Best of luck!

Have you checked with your insurance agent yet regarding premiums? I would be suprised if the NSX is cheaper than the Mitsubishi.

Thanks for the help/prices guys.

I've had horrible experiances with selling my cars, whether it just is my luck or I just get screwed over. Not really looking to mod the car anytime soon, but more or less have a nice weekend cruiser.

I did check my insurance on a price of an nsx and surprisingly enough, it's a bit cheaper.
