hey
i know that most of u drove your car to the track. i am sure most of u go redline every gear, i want to know how many of u experience damage to your engine, or any mechanical problem after lapping days. what will u guys check or replace BEFORE going to the track. i just bought an 92 with 80000km, its my daily drive car so i dont want to break anything on the track.
What would u guys do to prevent bad things happen!!!
ps: i already got tires, rims, bbk ready, what else do i need!!!

I have over 10,000 actual track miles on my NSX. I have replaced ball joints once and one wheel bearing, but both also occur for cars that are only driven on the street, so it's impossible to tell whether they are related to the track use or not. Other than that, I've had to replace "consumables" (tires, brake pads, brake rotors) but that's it, no other problems.

Nothing should break on a well-maintained car.

Fresh brake fluid (and using a higher-temperature fluid like Motul RBF 600 would be a good idea too). Other than that, just the things in the section that Ryan mentioned.

Oh, and just for your information - your posts are very difficult to read with those chat room abbreviations like the letter "u" instead of the word "you". I realize that they are popular these days; my 8-year-old nephew uses them when e-chatting with his classmates. But it helps to get your points across if you use real English, without the distraction of the abbreviations.

OK people no flames please but have any of you actually RACED your NSX's? I am almost finished with my 92 GPW which I will be using in HSR and SVRA sanctioned events. These are not hot lapping but real wheel-wheel racing with some bumps and bruises expecially in my class which is Group 9. I will running against late model Porsche GT3 cup cars as well as BMW M3's with both 6 and 8 cylindersand the earlier M1's. How competitve are these cars normally aspirated against Porsches from your experiences? Any shortcomings particular to the NSX?
Thanks.

pccw- has your timing belt been replaced? might not be a bad idea, given the car's age and mileage.
