Hi Guys

I am about to take delivery of a set of 17x8 and 18x10 rims for track and street driving.
My current set up is stock 1995 rims with Falken Rt's 215/45/16 and 245/45/17.

My question is if I where to put 225/45/17's on the front instead of 215/40/17 or 235/40/17 would this be ok for track and street. Would it give me any problems? I know the profile is not ideal but is seems not to affect my current setup up with the rears.

The reason for this question is that there are more variety of R compound tire's in 225/45/17 or 235/40/17 (rubbing issues for street.) than in 215/40/17 in Australia.

Your input is appreciated

Simon

A 225/45/17 has a much larger diameter than a 215/40 or a 235/40 for that matter. It will rub. Most of us run a 235/40/17 and a 275/40/17 for the rear. Fronts rub just a bit at full lock.

225/45/17 not happening on the front of an nsx

I currently run 235x40x17 and 275x35x18.
A little rubbing in the front at full turn lock. (no big deal)

Also know that during street use , the fronts may cause damage to the fenders if you have the wheels turned going up driveways etc.
