Does anyone out there have any experience attaching a small trailor to the NSX to haul tires for the track? I just can't fit everything inside the car. I notice several vettes and Por's have them (trailors) around here.

I saw one at NSXpo 98 and it seemed pretty clean. You want to make sure they don't attach it to the cross member in the rear and attach it to the frame. I wish I had kept the owner's name or had more details for you. Maybe a search will turn something up for you or someone else has a picture they can post.

I can. If you're using stock size tires, they should fit in the car, no problem. I'm using the '91-93 stock sizes Yokohama A032R tires. A rear one in the trunk, then use the rest of the trunk for the big plastic bin with all my track stuff. A front one behind the passenger seat. A small hydraulic jack on the floor of the passenger seat. The other two tires on top of the passenger seat. My overnight bag and helmet squeezed on top of the tires in the interior. No problem.

Or maybe someone doesn't mind sharing contact information with a fellow member of the NSX Club of America, for the second time in two days. In other words - you have mail.

While I have a deep envy for your discipline I just can't take eveything I want to have at the event in the car with me. I want too many things (like a chair and cooler). And without a good friend, the trailer is looking to be my best answer for now. I really don't want to drive to the event on my shaved Kumhos.

What you have been doing is potentially dangerous if you get into an accident. Each loose item can become a projectile and will cause bodily injuries or death.
Please do not advertise this kind of unsafe practice since many forum members look up to you and will tend to follow what is said. As an officer for NSXCA, you can be held liable even though your intentions are noble.
This is not to flame you, but rather to protect you and all readers from potential danger.

With all due respect,

With all due respect, indeed. I'm sure that everyone that reads this forum has enough of a brain to make an informed decision on this matter. I would think that if your intention was in fact to "protect," that a private message would be more appropriate. As I read your message, it looks more like an effort to increase liability exposure to someone who only offered a solution relative to how he does something. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong.

Yes, you are definitely looking at it wrong.
- A private message will not inform all the readers of the potential danger.
- There is no increase in liability because my message will negate the potentially dangerous suggestion.
- Before you say that "everyone has enough of a brain", read this forum thoroughly and see for yourself how many posts / comments are childish, silly, mis-informed, ridiculous, etc.

To zoom:Ken's tires wear thier seatbelts!LOL As to the topic of this post,I have seen a few corvettes towing small trailers so you may want to search on those forums.

I think towing a trailer would be more dangerous.

Please explain to me how this can happen, because I believe that what you allege is impossible.

Explain how a tire that is behind the passenger seat or on top of the passenger seat can become a projectile that can cause bodily injuries or death. Even in the event of an accident, it cannot be thrown free of the car, and its momentum will go forward, not towards the driver.

Explain how a jack or a collapsible chair on the passenger side floor can become a projectile and how this can cause bodily injuries or death.

Explain how a helmet that is wedged on top of one of the tires on the passenger side of the car can become a projectile and how this can cause bodily injuries or death.

Explain how my suggestion of putting a tire in the trunk, in the cutout of the trunk that is shaped to hold a tire, makes this a projectile or makes this advice different from that designed by the car's manufacturer.

I appreciate your concern for safety, but with all due respect, I believe that whatever dangers are in your imagination cannot possibly occur.

I am well aware of the dangers regarding items in the rear seat or hatch of minivans and SUVs and even family sedans becoming projectiles and causing injuries or death in the event of an accident. However, I do not see how transporting tires inside an NSX can cause bodily injury or death.

My work on behalf of the NSX Club of America (NSXCA) has nothing to do with the opinions I express in this forum or elsewhere. Unless otherwise noted, my opinions are my own and do not represent those of the NSXCA.

A. I'm not sure that I did look at it wrong, but I always try to see others points of view.
B. I was referring to the increased possibility of liability that you exposed nsxtacy to, where you could have avoided as much by the use of a private message. It seemed as if you were trying to set him up for future liabilities.
C. We will have to agree to disagree here. I believe members on this forum have a brain and can think for themselves, and your message reflects the opposite.

Is that directed to me? Honestly, I haven't even heard of Final Destination. A TV show I guess?

No KGP, it was directed to zoomnsx as a joke. Final Destination 1 & 2 are movies about freak accidents and death coming after you. btw, I dont mean to offend anyone. :)

Trust me, I wasn't offended at all. Just thought that I might have lost touch with the happenings in TV land.
