tow hook cover saver

The other day while pulling into the driveway I forgot to take it at an angle and the stress on the lower valance caused the tow hook cover to pop off.

I thought to myself, it is a good thing that I was at home to see it laying in the driveway after I pulled in instead of somewhere else where I probably would have lost it.

Then I thought about making a leash/lanyard for it. A simple solution was to use a cable tie through the tow hook and I attached one of those cable guides(has double stick tape on the back) to the inside of the cover(right side in between the ribs). Now if the cover pops off it will hang there right in front of the hole instead of being lost forever. I kept the cable tie short so that it won't flop around in the wind and scratch up the valance if it happens to pop off and I don't notice it.

Great idea.
Where were you a week ago when I needed this information? :frown:
I just bought a new cover and siliconed it in place.
