Hey Rogers, where are you heading to now? I hope it's for pleasure.

The weather is really wacky, especially with all the flooding down in long beach.

Hal, haven't seen you at Santana Row for awhile.

Heading to El Salvador for business. My 11:00 am flight turned into a red-eye flight arriving tomorrow morning.

A pic taken at the Huntington Beach pier.

I was at this tornado back in 1998 when it hit Los Altos and Sunnyvale.

The Sunnyvale tornado was probably a F2. Analyses of radar and other videos taken by citizens suggest that the Sunnyvale tornado was anticyclonic and, possibly, multiple vortex. This image suggests a double funnel, with an additional nearly horizontal small funnel off to the left about half-way up the main lowering. The image suggests that another funnel cloud was present on a more distant lowered cloud base.

(sorry for the late response, just saw your post)

good point - i think it's been at least a year since i've been there on a saturday... i'll make a point of coming down on an upcoming sunny sat - thx for the reminder.

I remember that Sunnyvale tornado. I was living in Sunnyvale at the time and drove through that area shortly after it happened. It was a mess.

I don't understand something here, help me out a little. You all say California is the best place to live, yet you have to deal with wild fires, mudslides, earthquakes, typhoon's, and tornado's. Besides all of those natural disasters, you have the political meltdown and a state that is bankrupt.

Sorry guys, but I'll take a hurricaine anytime over the aforementioned disasters.

Doc, it's crazy isn't it? With all of that, and this has been happening for decades, more people move INTO California than out. And yes, I'm not leaving.

Not everywhere experiences floods, fires and mudslides in CA.

Earthquakes? I wish it would happen more often. It gets boring for me without one.

Our weather is superior to the rest of the USA. Key element is the lack of that nasty humidity in the summer.
