Really just want to say "Hi" to her
I have a movie on my computer with two guys in a Porsche 911 (996) GT3. They spot Sabine in the old BMW E39 M5 Ring-taxi ahead of them just before the start, and try to hang on to her. Man, they really did struggle because she was extremely fast!
Wish I could drive as fast on the coolest track in the world
Gotta love Nurburgring, gotta love Autobahn and gotta love Sabine
Thanks for the link, that is really good. My palms were getting sweaty watching it! Wow.|Adeel said:Try this link! Uploaded the GT3 vs. Sabine movie!

Ok, I’m drooling already. I would love to see it. If it’s anything like the last clip, you’ve got a guaranteed ride around the Ring in my car (hell, you’ve got it now!).|Adeel said:Btw I do have a clip of the NSX-R (the new model, not the 1995 model) where I believe a Best Motoring japanese driver drives extremely hard and finishes in a time of 7,56!! Man the way he drives is absolutely crazy! Like he has no nerves at all...
Here in Europe, racing, rallies and bike races are a national sport. Ranks up there close to football. Most are on public roads, sometimes through cities and towns, sometimes in the mountains. So people paint the names of their favourite stars (who are racing that day) or words of encouragement on the track or road.Type-SR said:Whats with all the writing on the track ?

710 said:But the problem with the Ring -actually it’s the Nordschleife (pronounced nord shlife as in life), the “Ring” is the F1 circuit. The Nordschleife is the old racing circuit. Some 20km. That’s the one on the clip. Sometimes they open both so you go round the F1 circuit then get bumped onto the Nordschleife. Did you see at the end of the first straight where she is stuck behind some bikes, the road narrows and there is concrete on the side in the sharp corner, that’s the rejoining point. But on the clip, it’s only Nordschleife.
710 said:So the problem there is the danger. If you don’t know the track, then you can’t make a good time even in a good car. I don’t know the track. That would require about 1000 laps to learn it. If you “think” you know it, then you go alright for a while, then a blind corner appears while you are doing over 160kph to remind you that you don’t know. You crash. Simple. One motorcycle rider dead a week, or something like that.
So you find yourself braking for a blind over crest, and it was almost straight. Could have kept it to the floor. So you loose a lot of time. Then you do that next corner and it’s a good job you DID brake.
But it’s fun.
We tried it with pace notes, like in a rally. Got going so fast we were both sh*ting. So we go slow now.
I have on DVD an in-car Gulf Porsche with Derrick Bell (I think) going around the Nordschleife. It’s good but, I think yours is better.

They have done the same on the Ring.
Things are much more relaxed here than in the States (I presume you are in the States...sorry if not), where the authorities go on a power trip and restrict everybody.
I think it’s nice to see all the paint.
Yeah, I wasn’t going to mention that….you’re right about the “dead en route” part too.martin said:People also paint there names where they crashed. Those that live to tell.
LOL!martin said:The GP track is not that interesting they say. The Ring can be a little bit too interesting
Yes, many people feel sick, especially as a passenger. Me too sometimes. You see passengers getting out of the cars white faced sometimes, but they always have a big smile! It’s the weightlessness then positive Gs, over and over again I guess.martin said:It was a lot of fun, but I got sick in the end and that tells a lot.
