Tomy are releasing the NSX-R in their Bit Char-G radio control series. No pictures available yet. For those who have never heard of them Bit Char-G cars are tiny radio control cars that use the vibrator motor from cell phones and receive their power by being held against contacts on the transmitter for 45 seconds which gives a couple of minutes of running time. Julie the famous gadget gal has a review of them on her site. You can pre-order the model here.
I have no association with this vendor and no financial or other interest in the transaction. Opinions of hosts, callers, and guests are not those of station management, advertisers, or NSXPrime, your results may vary, professional driver on a closed course, yada, yada, yada...

lemansnsx,

Glad you pointed that out. I was getting ready to order a grip load of Bit Char-G cars, bodies, tires, gears, etc. just last month for myself and some co-workers, but pretty much on the day I was going to place my order, HLJ redid the page to show virtually every car was unavailable. Looks like they can get their hands on more again.

BTW, if anyone cares to know about HLJ.com, I do like ordering from them. It was a (minor) hassle to get payment info to them first, mostly for security reasons to protect the buyer, but now that I have all my info out of the way, it's real easy to order stuff from them that is either too difficult or too expensive to get in the States.

And like lemansnsx said, I too have no connection to the vendor, yada, yada, yada.....You get the picture.

If you like the Char-G cars do a search on hlj.com for Digi-Q. Even smaller and supposed to be faster but no NSX

I got one while I was in japan but it's an s2000 instead of NSX...damn! It's a fun little thing though!

Well, they are from the same company, after all. If you search there are lots of Japanese web sites with custom-bodied slot cars and so on. I'll wait and see if Takara release some NSX digi-Qs before sacrificing any of my choro-Qs.

Forgot a couple (way off topic...) if you like real high-tech toys do a search on hlj.com for "desk runner", "revolutor", and "aquaroid".

Toyeast still don't show it as being in stock... and HLJ will show it on backorder if you place an order with them.

I'm told that they will arrive at the local Hobby Shop this Friday, although at US$40, they won't be cheap.

Digi-Q. Even smaller and supposed to be faster but no NSX

My coworker has a Digi-Q Skyline GT-R. The thing is damn hard to control because it's crazy fast. Very cool...but, as you said, they don't make an NSX.

Another coworker has a couple of the Bit Char-G Mario Kart ones...much much slower even after upgrading the motors. There's no comparison in my book...the Digi-Q's rule.

And I have no affiliations with any of these manufacturers either

Okay, a bunch of my coworkers surprised me today by getting me this Bit Char G NSX-R for my birthday.

This thing is pretty dang cool. They also got me 2.6 motor upgrade which gives the NSX-R a good balance of control vs. speed. It is still not as fast my coworker's Digi-Q car, but it comes close.

Another thing about the Digi-Q cars are that they have analog steering whereas the Bit Char G ones are digital.

Still, there's something very cool about having a tiny car that is remote controllable. Too bad it isn't a classic NSX body (or one of the JGTC ones).

I can't wait to see what my cats think of it when I bring it home tonight.

I saw these cars while I was in Japan, going for something like $25 US, I guess I'll pick some up on my way back home

I'll be going back late next month.

See you at the get together this Sunday if you're there.

Saw these when I was in Japan last month also, but didn't see the NSX. I'm told the NSX is the latest one that is hot off the presses.

Picked mine up today! Fun little toy. I also have an S2000 Bit Char-G, and I don't know why, but it comes with the faster motor, while the NSX comes with the slower one. Good news is that they sell motors separately, for those that want to modify theirs!
