To Do List for new purchase of used NSX

Hello Prime,

If I was to buy a used 91 with around 45K miles. Can you give me a list of ALL the thing I should or must do before I start enjoying the NSX. If there is already a thread for this topic, please guide me to it. I am inching closer and closer to buying my NSX and wanted to do it the right way. I wont hesitate spending the proper money to fine tune my NSX before driving it. So please let me know all your thoughts on the thing I need to do AND, also important, how much should I expect to pay for each service.

Well I would start by checking the tire pressure and be sure the rear tires are in good shape. Flush and replentish all vital fluids...oil, trans, brakes. Verify the timing belt and water pump have been replaced within the last 6 years.

Later on you should probably have these things done also...

Get alignment done to the '93 specs for better tire wear
Replace coolant hoses and flush and refill the system
A/C service
Valve adjustment
Lube window tracks & install fix-it thingies if not already done

Better yet just take the car to Greenlight Honda and ask for Jerry Sample...he is the local NSX guru and he knows what to look for.

It really depends on what the previous owner already has done. That is why it is best to get all previous service records.

But if you are in doubt, then I would start with the following:

- Oil Change
- Air Filter
- Brake Fluid
- Clutch Fluid
- Coolant
- Fuel Filter
- ABS Fluid Flush via Drew's Loan Tool
- Remove throttle body and clean

Check to see if the follow has been done:
- Water pump
- Timing Belt

- Tube Seals
- Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder
- Coolant hoses
- Coil Pack Gaskets
- Valve adjustment

- Cam Seals
- Window Fix-it
- Apirator Fan
- Main Relay
- Trunk and Engine Stays/Lift struts
- Tail lamp gasket
- Re-upholstery booster sides on Driver seat
- Rebuild Climate control via BrainK
- Rebuild Bose speaker/amp via BrainK
- AC retrofit
- Replace coolant overfill tank due to leak in seams

Go to Skip Barber Racing school to improve the driver.

Go to the gym and lose some weight. Best weight reduction modification :biggrin:
