1. Do all NSXs come from the factory with a titanium key?
2. Are they just a factory option when buying the car new?
3. If the answer to #1 is yes, then were they only made for certain years, or all years?

The reason for these questions is I don't have a titanium key and was wondering if the original owner just kept it for good memories or whatever the reason.

Thanks,
Dave

You could get a titanium key for any year NSX. But in 97 and newer it would only work to open the door. In 97 they started putting some type of anti-theft chip in the key so you have to use the ugly plastic key.

Just to add on to NSXG35's response...

One metal key (made of a metal called monel, which people think is titanium) came as standard equipment with the '91-96 NSX, along with a conventional rubber-coated key. The '97+ NSX came only with the normal-looking keys with the immobilizer chip inside.

hey dave
mine isnt titanium as well..but my friends 94 does..

I think we have the spares...the black rubber/plastic key
