Tires for my 1997 16/17

What brand tires and sizes are okay for my 1997? 16/17 OE Wheel. Please chime in. I am now running 225-45-16 and 255-40-17.cant seem to find many brands whom make 225-45-16.

I have a set of Dunlops Z2 in those sizes. If you're semi local to 94118 and interested lmk. 225/45/16 you have decent options. If you want to stick to oem spec 215/45/16 that means 615 or xs.

Martinman, do you experience any rubbing at full lock with the 225/45/16 up front? I was always lead to believe that there would be some rubbing with that size.

205/45/16 and either 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 opens up a lot more options as well.

205/45/16 and either 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 opens up a lot more options as well.

If you go 205 in the front it won't make sense to go 255 in the rear.

Not much difference between a 205 and a 215 front in terms of specifications. Certainly a larger tire selection if you go with a 205 in the front. 245 was the OEM rear size. I'd stick with that with your OEM wheels.

Right. And 255 makes sense to go with if one chooses 225 front. Or even if still at 215.
