Just got my 1991 NSX(!) and I’ve purchased wheels from a 1995 to install. Going with 205/45/16 on the front, but do I go with 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 on rear with regards to the TCS? On Tire Rack, selecting the 205 on front results in an “important note” to only use the 255 in rear. The posts I’ve read on here suggest the 245 with advice to keep tire diameters within 5% but the early cars stock size staggers are closer to 8%...
Stock diameters: 23.1 front 24.9 rear
205/45/16 dia. is 23.3
245/40/17 dia. 24.7
255/40/17 dia. 25.0
The 255 seems like the better choice but does the wider 255 affect the balance of the car negatively? Cant wait to drive my new car on new tires! – (looking at RE-760’s) Thanks for your help.

personally I'd go with the stock front size for your 95 wheels and do a 215 front and 255 rear.

I agree: 215 F & 255 R seems best. But 205 F & 255 R is a 7.6% stagger, which isn't too far off the 4.65% stock stagger.

true, unfortunately the 215 45 16 is not a popular size.

I have 205/45R17 for my fronts (relative to my 255/4R17 rears), and I'm lowered on Tein RA coilovers. I haven't noted any rubbing other than lock-to-lock turning where it's somewhat observable). Obviously, this may vary across tire makes/models. I am referencing my experience with Bridgestone Potenzia RE050A Pole Positions.

Yes, not ideal size but as aforementioned 215/40R/17 (or 215/40R16) aren't generally available in a desired tire as of late.
