Timing Belt Replacement

I have a oil leak on the right side of my 04' with 19k miles on it. It appears to be coming from behind the plastic case by the crankshaft and timing belt. I was quoted $1800 to just remove the timing belt and another $400 to replace the seals. I would like to know how much everyone else has paid for a timing belt replacement. This seems a bit high and was told they have to remove the valves covers thats why its $1,800.

Are you sure it is coming from the seal? To me it looks like it is coming from your oil pan and migrating upwards a bit. Check all your pan bolts. I'd be willing to bet that some or all are loose or finger tight at best(mine were).

The oil on the aluminum brace in the cable bracket is likely just oil from when the filter was changed.

its might be your cam plugs, mine are leaking,

also the timing belt and water pump plus valve adjustment is 2500.

so that a great deal.

yeah it could be, it could be your valve cover gaskets dripping down

while you have the covers off you should just have them do it all.

tb/wp/valve adjust, valve cover gaskets spark gaskets cams plugs, and oil pan gasket

I thought it was the oil pan gasket at first to. But there is oil above the oil pan gasket on the engine block. How is that possible?

It's probably a little of both. Doesn't look too bad to me, probably seepage. Is there any oil on your garage floor where it's parked? I'd wait until it needs the TB replaced to go at it unless it's pooling or you notice a drop in oil pressure.
Good Luck and happy Motoring!

Oil from the pan can blow anywhere and everywhere....making it hard to track down.

I'd degrease it all, then drive it for a few miles and then take another look.

With your model year and mileage it's gotta be something simple like the oil pan gasket like the others are saying. Don't ever be too quick to spend money on a Honda that is as new as yours. These cars are really pretty bullet proof especially as new as yours.

A little weepage is nothing to worry about - if it is dripping on your garrage floor then it's time to do something.
