Man, you guys are right. Everything in the book has raced through my mind. I laid in bed and questioned every bolt that I turned. I kept thinking, "I was so sure that the cams aligned perfectly. Well, here was the deal! I pulled the plugs, sure enough the #2 plug was dirty. That cylinder was indeed dead, had about 10 psi compression. I had a hard time with that blind bank with that particular valve when adjusting. Somehow, I managed to work a .008 gauge into the space when in actuality there was no space. I had the valve riding on the cam, the adjustment caused it to stay open. Backed it off and she runs like a champ. Man, talk about stressed out! I can't thank you guys enough! Larry, your instruction you sent me were perfect!!! Thank you so much!!! I am not sure if this helped or hurt my confidence. I want to learn every intricate detail of my car but can't afford to make the kind of mistake I thought I had made!!! I am glad I have learned what I have learned, but it sure was a sinking feeling I do not want to experience anytime soon. As far as the job difficulty goes, it was tight. There were several hour spent reasoning through the hows and whys and what ifs. I am not scared of that job again, but I can tell you that I felt like I was in High school again, down by 1 and on the free throw line. I think this new stressful situation will soon replace the Basketball nightmare I have had in the past!!! Thanks again guys, people like you add a facet to owning the NSX!!

That's awesome!. We owe guys like LB, DanO and others a debt for all the good tech advice they give us.

On a side note - why start a new thread? You should post the good news in the old thread for others, as it could help in the future. ;)

That's exactly what this forum is for; To share knowledge with other members. Isn't is great to see it work! Have fun Steve.

Steve,

Very Cool. Glad it has all worked out. In regard to the write up I must give credit where it is due, and although I had started this write up, i never was able to find the time to finish it. Gary Kentosh is the author of the .PDF here on Prime and it was somewhat of a collaboration by us.

So, now that you are a veteran, what is the next job:)?? I have to say, this would not have been my first choice (NSX) to "learn" how to do a timing belt;)

Regards,
Larry

Yeah, my wife does not get it. I have always had my belts changed by the shop. The problem I have with the NSX is I don't trust anyone around it! You know, the greasy 350 lb guy bent over the fender with sweat dripping off him, supporting the entire 350 lbs on his greasy elbow. I hate to see an elbow dent in my fender! Then the shop would say "we didn't do it". So my motto has been "I'd rather someone that did not know what they were doing but cared about the job do it, than the person that knows what they are doing, but does not care. I did notice Gary's name on the file, I can't imagine the time it took to do the belt while documenting every step and taking pics! Thanks again PRIME!
