Love Tiff!

I'm a big Tiff fan, but I think he's way off here. Something must have been wrong with the NSX he was driving, or maybe he just had a fight with his s.o. -- I've never seen him be so negative about a car of the NSX's caliber.

Of course, Tiff's driving style (at least here) is more suited to rally driving than road course driving (you wouldn't see him drive a race that way). Let's all remember that our X was never intended to be a "drifter". It can be done, but the NSX was set up to understeer and get around a course quickly WITHOUT oversteer. Like trying to get a monkey to eat pheasant.

Wasn't there an early 90's clip of Tiff Praising the NSX? I think it's in the gallery somewhere......The clip started out with the intro of Supra and then the theme of the show suddenly shifted to focus on the NSX.

So, I wonder, why all of the sudden Tiff switched sides?

There is a TopGear ep. with Tiff reviewing the NSX... but his opinion is lukewarm - i dont think he really 'understood' the car. He complains it has all the best elements of some supercars, and the worst too (he complained esp. about the the lack of storage space)

Like i said before - he is a porsche man... and he loves to drift around corners.

I have that clip. Yeah, Tiff seemed to give the NSX, for the most part, good reviews.

Clarkson starts the review, but tiff actually does all the driving and review..

Tiff has never been a big fan of the NSX. Though I have NEVER seen him review a 1997+ with the 6 speed, power steering, and more HP. It would be interersting to see what he thinks of the 2002. or the NSX-R for that matter. OR a SC/Turbo NSX. I think he might really like that :)

Which one is Jimmy? The curly haired guy? He gave the intro for the NSX while Tiff did a review of the NSX. Tiff brought the NSX out on the back roads and to a track. It was either a '91-'94 NSX but the clip looked dated.

TopGear

TopGear reviewed the NSX when it first came out. This is what you see when Tiff is driving. A bit on the road and a bit on track. The bit where Jeremy shows a Supra was taken from his video of Supercars. This clip then cuts back to the original bit from TopGear when Tiff drives. There was another time when Tiff drove an NSX when they tested cheap fast cars. It was a NSX, Subaru, and EVO. I say cheap as in value for money older cars.
TopGear was cancelled on the BBC due to poor ratings a couple of years ago. Last year Jeremy started a new TopGear show with a new format, and without the old presenters. This is where the new Type_R footage comes from.
Tiff is a fool, and a mediocre racing driver at best. His definition of a good car is one that can have the back end held out in a long powerslide. The best cars for that are front engined/rear drive. Like Jaguars, BMWs etc. He also likes Porsches. He doesn't have much time for Japanese cars, and prefers 'labels'. He also has to think of where his next racing drive will come from.
They say on TV that Tiff is one of a few people that can powerslide a car like he can, but he can't do it with a NSX. My instructor powerslid my NSX one day just fine.

Just watched the video in Neo's link above.
All I can say is 'what a tit'

 that wasn't a p0rno link... :p

j14nsx: well said... exactly my thoughts about Tiff also. I like Jeremy... he makes some pretty funny comments, especially about Lambo's when he says he 'nearly wet himself' taking a corner at 200mph. :D And he criticised the Lambo's old clutch as for being too stiff (what reviewer would dare be that honest?!)Oops... where's Allan to defend the Lambo's... ;)
