Hello guys,

I have a 95 and recently had NA2 stock headers installed and now I hear a rapidly ticking noise as I accelerate. The sound is more isolated and pronounced when I have the window rolled up and the AC on. The ticking sound is definitely coming from behind me maybe from the exhaust area. I did not hear this noise before the NA2 headers were installed. I also have a Taitec GTLW exhaust installed but that was before the headers were installed and no problems before. Does anyone know what maybe the problem and what the solution would be? Much thanks in advance.

I also agree that it sounds like a gasket leak, seen it before!!

My NA1 did/does it ocassionally even after a full new header/gasket change but it does not seem to be performance related - might it just be a bit of pinking (as we say in UK) or "pre ignition"?

Did you check the flange, on the NA2 headers, for any warping prior to installation.

I had the outside of the tubes, where they go into the flange, welded completely around the tube and then ground out the weld that is on the inside. After I was done I noticed that both of my flanges were warped. It may have happened when I had the welding done. I had a machine shop surface both of the flanges true ($90) prior to installation. I have had no unusual noises since installation.
