finish is available only on the gram light model... still a sexy looking wheel.

I belive retail is some ungodly amount like 3800 a wheel for 18" with the ti lip. Apparently its a really expensive process to get that coloration and finish.

i think it is around 900/wheel. not sure, but the website indicates that. Can anyone photoshop the rim face black (glossy black)?

i first saw this finish on a r34 skyline in turbo magazine a few months back and even inquired about these finishes for myself on the downforce nsx....

i definitely agree these are HOT loooking wheels and the finish is unique... but i think this will be one of those things that are the flavor of the month sorta stuff... i guess we'll see how it does in 2 years...

I have those wheels (57S Pro) in the standard Silver/Gray Finish. The Lip is actually a separate piece that is added later and is a Stainless Steel ring on the normal wheels. You can see it on the last two pictures if you look closely at the edge of the lip. It's just a ring that slides into the wheel.

is the steel insert sturdy? is there anything holding it on besides pressure against the wheel?

also, is the "gram light" just a sticker? Can you order the wheels without the writing?

I'm not sure how it is in there. I assume that its somehow glued in.

The "Gram Light" is just a sticker. The come not installed and you have the option of putting them on. There is, however, a small "g" pressed in one of the spokes and that is a part of the wheel, so you can't get rid of it.

i was under the impression it was a specially chemically treated or processed metal given the color effects of titanium... and that it is actually the full lip and not just an insert ring... who knows...

looks good, and expensive! it will match with my titanium exhaust :) but they do not offer 19x10 :(

i was thinking the same thing. if someone were to ROCK these' TI wheels on a subtle color car (either white or black) and had TI-burned exhaust tips, perhaps even an ARC TI-burned knob.... now that's HOT~!!!

The ring is probably treated. . . but it's the ring, Rays calls them a "Stainless Jacket". Here's a picture from the Rays Product Guide. You can see the "Jacket" in it

They look nice but I think you will get tired of it eventually just like with any other rim.

My brother just ordered these wheels for his Tracy Sports S2000 wide body. They will be here in Febuary. If you guys are interested pm me and I will give you the contact info. Will post pics as soon as they come in. Also, keep an eye out in Honda tuning for this car. Frank

E Diddy, I read your posts all the time, and you are my Prime hero:biggrin: , but I have to disagree here.

Sweet wheel:eek: . If I didn't think the wifey would kill me, I would have those on mine ASAP.

hi guys --

As mentioned, the "heat treated titanium look" is an ionized plating on a stainless steel insert that can be ordered on the Gram Light wheel.

We offer these for both standard body and wide body cars. Note however that the lip is much smaller on a stock body than what you are seeing in the pictures.

If you are interested, I'd be happy to provide a quote. ScienceofSpeed is a master Volk dealer.

take care,
-- Chris

Yes, I found this out after waiting the 3 months to have them built. . .but overall, I really like the design. Here's the same wheel, with the standard Stainless Steel Lip inserts
