Track fanatics .........

Just received confirmation that the NSXCA Sacramento Chapter has been approved to take Tuesday, April 23 as a track day at Thunderhill. This, thanks to Jim Grinstead who offered the BMWCCA GGCh reserved date to us.

So please calendar this date as the track dates have been pretty much all gone for the rest of the year and we were lucky to be able to get this one. We have also secured Tuesday, September 3 (the day after Labor Day) as our annual Niello Acura sponsored exclusive track event. By the way, Niello supports all our track events!

We are exploring using a slightly different format this time around without compromising safety which is our absolute top priority. We will be testing the idea at Laguna Seca with the S2000 this coming Monday. Basically, it will be the format used at NSXPO 2001 (three run groups with beginners and novice having mandatory instructors, intermediate would be discretionary based on prior track events and our data base ..... yes big brother is watching; and an advanced group to run on their own unless there is an instructor free to go along).

And for those who want to run at Sears Point (perhaps at NSXPO 2003 hint hint .... <vbg>), building seat time and confidence would be like having money in the bank .... so make use of such track opportunities.

More details to follow ...........

Well, here are the more details ..........

Registration is now open on our NSXCA Sacto Chapter web site:
http://sacramento.nsxca.org/Events/thunderhill_driving_school_4-02.htm

Please note that this is not an exclusive NSX event and we need to secure 60 student drivers to make the budget. Our registration fee of $175 is lower than what Thunderhill charges for driving school by $20, and we have fewer cars not to mention the ambiance and camaraderie.

Pursuant to the feedback we have received, and depending on the number of instructors we can secure, we will try to have 3 run groups this time: Advanced, Intermediate, and Novice/Begginer. Novice/Beginners will have mandatory in car instructors, Intermediate at our discretion based on prior track experience, Advanced no instructors unless they are available. Instructors will run in Advanced and Intermediate sessions only so this should allow plenty of track time to all.

We have also planned a dinner/registration the night before at the Santa Fe Grille pursuant to such a request. Santa Fe Grille is offering us a superb open buffet menu, with prime rib, salmon and chicken lasagna as entrees, various side dishes and desert all for $20 ........ they want us back as their previous "pasta" Chef has gone (LOL)! And this is $10 cheaper than the BMWCCA GGCh dinner cost for this month's THill event!

So come and join us, we are putting a great program for you .........
