T.E.A.M. Racing is putting on its first in-season event of the year at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California. Cost is just $235 per driver and includes, as at all of our event, expert instruction, classroom time, healthy snacks and bottled water, catered lunches, and over TWO HOURS OF TRACK TIME. We will be running the full course counter-clockwise, using the Eagle's Nest up in turn five.

Full details about us can be found at www.team-racing.org or if you'd like to go directly to the form, it can be found at www.onemain.com/~bonster/april.pdf The tech form can be found at www.onemain.com/~bonster/techform.pdf

If you have any questions, please let us know! Our email is [email protected] Don't get stuck at work! Make this a Friday worth getting out of bed for! :D

Hey Ken, long time no talk to. :) We don't usually do Buttonwillow, as there are plenty of groups already popular in SoCal that put events on down there. We tried doing a Buttonwillow event a couple of years ago but lost about $2k on it as we could not get enough drivers, as folks down there have not heard of us in many cases.

BUT . . . if you guys want a date down there, we can still put one on if there are dates still available. Based on the pricing two years ago, if memory serves, we'd need at least 40 drivers at around $200 or so a piece (three run groups as always). So if there's interest, we'd be glad to do it. Otherwise, I'd rather keep my money in the bank. :D

Based on where you live, I'd try Laguna Seca to get your fix. Groups like Track Masters would be my suggestion. I cannot honestly recommend a SoCal group, as I've never run with one, at least not at Buttonwillow. But like I said, if we get enough interest, we'll do a BW event, for sure. I just didn't try as I didn't think folks were interested. I'll check into it.

NorCal folks, we are really trying to make an effort in getting the April 4th track event at THill with T.E.A.M. Racing a tune-up for the April 21 track event at Infineon with TrackMasters Racing.

Since 2001, we have had two yearly track events where we focus on bringing the NSXers out to the track. One in April and one in Fall.

We NorCals are very fortunate to have three track events all within a few hours of driving and if you are caravaning with club radios, you will have equal fun to/from the track as well.

Bonni is gearing this event to encourage NSXers to join. With the recent weather, many of us have been idle and itching for some track days so don't wait too much longer as the spots will fill quickly. Also, this will give you an opportunity to see Steve's twin turbo that Shad put together on the track, and if you are lucky, you may get a ride too ..... but I recommend you opt for the ones before lunch ;-)

Hey Bonni, when do you guys head down to Buttonwillow?

Funny. I go to the track frequently. Don't recall seeing you there :).

Can we get you to come out to Sears or Thunder Hill?
They should both be Good.

I have already committed to be at Sears Point on 4/21. I'll check the calender and try and also make Thunder Hill.
Ok ok... Negotiate with the wife :). If it was up to me I would go.

Show up and if you like I'll get some hot shoe to take you out in there tracked prepared NSX. Not to say yours is not hopped up.

There are now a bunch of us that show up with trailers and such. We all hang together through the day.
It is a blast. This is not a competition. We are just glad people show up.
We help each other out. You will fit in and enjoy. Trust me.

Later,
Don

Thanks, Hrant, for encouraging folks to come out. If we get, as I stated earlier over the phone (and it was probably mentioned at the meeting I missed while in Florida), ten NSX's, cost for you all (and this only applies to our NSX brethren) will be only $200 for Thunderhill. This is for NSX's ONLY -- so no, Jeff, no Integra. ;) Why are we doing this? Because we really wanna see more NSX's at the track. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a complete novice to the track, you will most certainly learn how to drive your car better, which will in turn help you stay safer on the street. I hope you all can make it! :)

Hi Everyone,

We are now 30 days from this event and it is time for a list. The Driving Ambition Nsx Race car will be there with a passenger seat:biggrin: This car is also sponsored by TEAM Racing for the season to support out NSX community and club. We want to Support this event with our attendance for a safe and fun filled day.

There will be NSX drivers/instructors for the novices that sign up to further enhance your driving experience. Shad Huntley or Driving Ambition will be there as well.

So that's five drivers (have not received anything from Armando yet) out of the ten we need to give everybody the $35 rebate, making it a $200 track day for NSX'ers. :) The complete drivers list is at www.onemain.com/~bonster/driverlist.html

Folks, we need a few more to make this an NSX show. At $200 this is truly a great bargain and you will be in good company, as well as trailer comforts with air tools galore

Bring friends too since we are always happy to give rides

I'm there....work can wait!

Yup Larry, got your registration form when I woke up this morning. Armando still has not actually signed up (let's tease him at next meeting if he is there!). So there are for sure six NSX's, plus one unconfirmed, so that's seven now. Only three more to go to get the $35 rebate! Total as of today in attendance, when you include the instructors, will be up to eleven! That's like an NSX show! Bring your cameras!!! :D

Taking my name off the list. At the moment I think it is a long shot if I can attend.

Hope you have a good time.

I was at Laguna Last Wed. I had a problem with my brakes.
I went out with my student and the left rear brake stayed on.
I came in after a lap with the rotor glowing bright red.
After a min it caught fire. :frown:
I had a 5Lb halon extinguisher that did the trick with the fire and cooling down the rotor.

I Still don't know the cause.

My pads were new and not binding. I have taken the caliper apart and it is fine.
My break line caught fire as well as the abs sensor and the ball joint boots are also toast.
l I have a new abs sensor and boot on the way due 3/21 Monday. :)

On the NSX the right front and Left rear are on the same port of the master.
The right front is fine so I think the master is ok.

The break line may have been the problem holding pressure in the caliper but since it cought fire I can tell.
Could be the Abs solenoid for the left rear?

I'm going to take the abs apart and clean it out. If that's possible.
I'll also fix the ball joints boots. I'm going to rebuild all the calipers for the fun of it all and install new lines.
While the car is up in the air there is some other stuff I'll also take care of.

Since I still don't know what the trouble is I want to drive it around for a week or two.

I was at Sears on Friday with my commuter car an 89 525i and well I won't be taking it on the track again.
I can now say I have driven it on the track but lets just say I'll keep this to a once in a life time experience. :)

If I have parts sooner than I expect and the car together than maybe I could attend but I don't think so.

I was looking forward to this event. Should be a good one.

Come on Don SACK UP and make it happen!!!!!!! Put on the new brake line and rotor and put it in the trailer. You had 2 weeks

See you there:biggrin:

Steve

Yeah, what is this no parts no play ...... do a few honey dos and get the WRX to the track if it comes to that, of course with the trailer and you know what too ........

With so many gearheads coming to the event, I'd think you could just fix the car in the paddock. Looks like these guys aren't gonna let up on you Don. Make sure you let me know if you will be there, okay? Right now I have you off the list, so if things change, please notify me. :)

Is there still time/room to register for this event? If I can find a couple locals near me to go with, I'd like to take the car out.

J

Depends on which run group you are trying for. We have only one slot left in our novice group, four in our intermediate group, and about a dozen or so in our advanced group. That novice group slot will likely go very soon, as there are already three other people interested. It's a first come, first served kind of deal. :) So yes, there is still time and room.
