So, I was standing in a bookstore looking at some turner magazines with my buddy for fun the other day. Just BSing around since we had time to kill. I saw an ad for a supercharger for the 350Z/G35 and it reminded me of the Comptech for our cars. I remarked to my buddy, "Yea man, I would love to supercharge my NSX one day. If only I had a 10 grand lying around." Suddenly this kid in the vicinity barks "Dude, if you could afford an NSX, you wouldn't be standing here in this bookstore, talking about Porsches and Lambos." (I was commenting on some earlier)

Is there some code of conduct where I can't hang around in a bookstore now that I own an NSX? Lol, seriously, I didn't know. Am I too good or not good enough for a bookstore now? I whipped out the NSX key and the kid was flabbergasted and didn't utter a single word as he walked away. I was just surprised at the level of stupidity or shallowness (watever you want to call it) people can have. And when I say kid, I really mean like my age if not older than me, basically, a grown ass man. Is this really what society is raised to believe?

Not sure what driving an exotic car has to do with being in a book store. I usually look at the magazines at 7-11, so your in more classy place than me. I wouldn't get too worked up over what people say or think. Most people say negative things to put down others in order to feel better about their own short comings. In the end, your still driving the NSX and they aren't.

actually, depends...

College bookstore?

Adult bookstore?

Discount/clearance bookstore?

Half-price bookstore?

Used-books/etc' bookstore?

Trade-&-exchange bookstore?

Rare-&-Collectibles bookstore?

People dont know how much you can buy an older NSX for. They still assume it is a very expensive car.

Sounds like a cocky SOB. Some people just dont hold back, probably the type of person he was more than the fact that you have an NSX.

He is just envious...I was driving my car with the windows down and someone yelled "Tough Luck" when I went by. Whatever

I believe what he meant was this:

"Losers like myself like to come into book stores and read auto mags and imagine driving these exotic cars. And if you're someone that owns one of those cars, why would you be in here with us losers and not out there driving your awesome ride?"

Lol, it was at a Barnes and Nobles I believe. Lol who goes through the drive thru? I like to park my car, order the double cheeseburger and look at my car while I eat it, makes the $1.05 spent more gratifying. Besides no food will be eaten in my NSX

Why do you care or deal with people like this? Also check "exotic" cars. I've owned a couple of NSX's and currently own one. "Exotic"? Not!

Meh...I live in the land of snobs or know it alls...read whatever you want and just ignore the smart ass comments.

I love how people feel they can comment on someone else's financial status...

LOL - I feel ya. I went to McDs the other day (around 4pm) and the cooks came out on their break and were looking the NSX over. One of the kids came back in and asked me if it was my car. I was the only one in the dining room, but instead of a smart remark I said "yeah, do you like Hondas?" He told me he had a civic and was a member of a local Honda club. The kid was so nice and polite I offered to take him for a spin around the block. He loved it.

IMO - I got this car to have fun with it. Its more fun when you can share the experience with other people you meet. Who cares about a code of conduct because you can afford a car that most can not? Is there a owners code of conduct for minivans, SUVs, or hybrids?

Hey, a beautiful Asian girl may be exotic to the southeast coast of America, but in Asia, she's just another number in about half a billion. A NSX is exotic around my parts. Not that I'm all gangsta now cause I drive an "exotic".

Yeah. the code is to stop patting yourself on the back.

I had a drive thru experience just the other day (my first in the NSX). It was Taco Bell and when i pulled up to pay i heard the kid yell to the others to "come see this car" and after they all poked there heads out and had a look i heard one of them say to the others "i've seen better".:biggrin:

i went through the wendys drive thru and had a guy run outside and ask me if it was a ferrari. I said "no, its a honda" and the kid looked at me weird and then said "kewl". I dont think that most people are just snobs. More like car-dumb. I dare someone to go through a taco bell drive thru, ask for 3 waters and a .69 taco and thats it. The cashier will probably blame the stock market.
