I was working on my car outside my home, and this Saab 95 driven by a middle aged white guy came and tried to reverse park in front of me. Then he hit my newly Mugen kitted car! I heard the fibre glass crack. Then he won't apologise, he went on about, it is normal to hit the bumpers when parking! I showed him the crack on the bracket, and he said that could have been there before, if I want to take it further call my lawyer or something. Well, I told him to at least apologise, said sorry, but he also said

"I do not need to have lessons on manners from a foreigner"

I told him I won't take that sort of racist remarks, and he went off. My gf was v. upset with this incident, so I called the police and reported him. I hope they teach him something. He is an idiot really, just because I didn't look threatning being 5"2, but this is a kind of situation where people get into a fight, I have extremely good temper but if it had been anyone else he could have been shot dead or something.

OK, he hit my CRX not my NSX, but I treasure my CRX as much as my new NSX, if he had hit my NSX, I would have been million times angrier!

What counts as a racist remarks would have been if he called me a Nip or Jap or Chink or something, but in this particular incident, I interpreted it as anyone that is not from this country should go away, English is the best, and everyone else is non educated, peasant and a scum. The police officer said it is how I interpret it that is important, so there : )

Did you get his insurance information? Because his insurance should pay for any damage to your car. Quite aside from any issue regarding his xenophobic insults.

He didn't want to give me the insurance details actually. Besides, I only got my car back from repair 2 days ago (from some idiot driving onto my car back in April), so he hit my spanking new bumper. The damage is not enough to be repaired... annoying really.

I don't really like to take it for insurance claim whether my fault or not, cos I still need to pay excess, and the incident in April, the other party has not contacted my insurance company, so they just could do a runner and I be charged for it on my insurance. I would not have claimed it if I knew they would have done that. As, the increase in the premium is not worth it for claiming things like fixing the dent on the wing.

What a wanker! Unless UK insurance works differently, his insurance should pay for the whole repair cost. If the police did take a report, that should help convince the ins. company.

cracked bumper

CRX, I feel for you guy. having traveled a great deal in europe on business I was shocked at the parking conditions, paris is even worse then london. BTW I love the CRX and the value of an auto has no bearing on respect. I admire your temperment.if it had happened to me I really would be afraid of what I would have done to the guy not due to his moronic driving but his complete lack of respect and obvious racism. rake his sorry a$$ over the coals. dont let that fool get off easy.use the legal system. sorry to hear it and let us know the outcome. his karma will catch up with him someday
best regards david

sorry to hear this happened to you. I also had a similar incident. sucks. I know how u feel. :( keep us posted

p.s. did you get his insurance info?

Bumpers are meant for bumping or else they would have called
them something else-like front and rear facia extenders.

ONLY KIDDING--Sorry for your problem -can't change the
mentality of some people-We All are foreigners unless you
happen to be a NATIVE AMERICAN--like in INDIAN

Aren't you supposed to fill out a document describing the incident and which is forwarded to your respective insurance company?
In Norway we do, and if you don't claim your car to be repaired, nothing happens. If you decide to repair, the "guilty one" can choose to pay for your damages and not getting any bonus reduction or he can let the insurance company cover and then have to pay a higher premium.
This document is an insurance for you as well. I have had a couple of minor bumper damages on my "everyday" car where I, after waiting a couple of days, found out that this really was minor damages and there was no need to get an expensive repairjob done.
