Hey guys wondering if anyone that's been to resorts in Honduras had any suggestions for things my wife and I could do there. We're pretty active gym rats so anything that keeps the body moving is fine by us. We'll also be flying to Rio (Brazil) shortly for the last leg of our trip and only ever gone there with the guys and did things um guys do. So any "couples" activity recommendations are welcome for there as well. Thanks! P. S. We leave this Monday (Nov 19 2012)

First of all at the minute you arrive take a good icee horchata uummm
and relax with the heated sun hit your forehead
for others stuff to do, man your in couple so easy to imagine :)

We were just in Roatan for a cruise. It wasn't very nice. Way 3rd world. But the alcohol prices were great :) We went to a resort for the day that was probably one of the nicer ones there and it wasn't too bad, but not what you would consider 5 star here. I really enjoyed snorkeling there.

I have not been but i think there are eco tourist resorts in that part of the mexican carribean.

Thanks for your input guys just got back in from our stay at the Fantasy Island Resort, Dive and Marina. While the island is "Third World" it's a beautiful place. Snorkeling is fantastic there and so is diving if you're certified. Highly suggest any divers on here definitely visit and stay at the aforementioned resort. 2nd largest coral reef outside of the great barrier reef can be found here! The dive areas are numerous and also include an old sunken ship and a plane! West Bay, West End and French Harbor are all worth visiting. I implore anyone to set aside a day for an excursion into the mainland to visit the Mayan Ruins (via small aircraft and a brief shuttle). Anyways here are some pictures:

I thought this was a thread about things to do with Hondas lol.

Mojitos, sun and a lot of nothing (?)

Well sums up 50% of what I did aside from Snorkeling and visiting the 3 places mentioned in my OP (2 days). Actually feel rested this time... Usually I need a vacation from the vacation when I get back.....

Yeap, sounds about right. I stopped off in Honduras twice on a cruise about 5 or 6 years ago - really enjoyed it, beautiful beaches, but definitely an underdeveloped vibe (which some folks find appealing). Haven't stepped foot in the resorts, but if they're 4-5 stars I'm sure the quality should be decent. Just read online reviews beforehand to get a handle on what to expect, and what kinds of activities are offered nearby.
