should i bring my own oil and tell them to use it (mobil 1 synthetic)?

should i let em wash the car once evything is done or should i just drive home dirty and have the pleasure of cleaning her.

don't want them scratchin the car and stuff..

Uh, do you think that a brand new NSX sold by a dealership is delivered "dirty" to the customer for fear that they will scratch the car? But the dealership continues to washer "lesser cars" because scratches on a non-NSX are not as big of a deal? And what's to say that you don't accidentally scratch your car while washing it. What then?

1. Bring your own oil. Not many dealers stock up on Mobil 1.

2. Wash your car yourself. You'll have peace that way. I too am afraid that they would wash my car through the car wash machine which would increase the scratch possibility. Even if they hand wash it, who knows waht they do. Better safe than sorry.

Don't mind Andy....he's.....well just Andy. :) I see nothing wrong with being a little anal about your car. People have different opinions and you should do as you please and are most happy with, which in your case is to wash it yourself.

Especially in 10W30.

If you normally wash your car yourself and are fastidious about how you wash your car, then tell them not to wash it. If you're not that fastidious and let your car get machine washed, then let them do it.

thanks..

andy - you make a very good point but not strong enough for me to trust the other guys on washing it.

thanks again.

My dealership runs most cars through their drive-through wash but understand that the NSX is better kept out of that thing. I did let them hand wash it once. No scratches.

If you normally get an unmotivated, barely literate slacker to wash your car...after driving all over town...then I highly recommend letting the dealership do it. Otherwise, you'll probably want to do it yourself. One thing that I have learned, is that other than the mechanics working on them, the rest of the dealership staff typically views the NSX as just another Acura.

And after the lot lizard washes your car, make sure you let him take it for a joy ride.

I once let a local stealership wash my car and it was returned with multiple scratches. They probably used a dirty towel to clean the wheels on the car prior to mine, and then they probably dropped the rag that was used to dry the car on the ground. If I'm going to get scratches on my car I'd rather do it myself, which of course I already have done.
