I finally got my 2020 Thermal Orange delivered a few days ago which my kids instantly named it "cheeto"
I wanted to own an NSX all my life and wasn't sure if Gen2 really delivered. I was a bit on the fence but Scott (powdbyrice) @ Acura of Fremont set me up with the NSXperience drive @ HPC in Cantil, CA last november. The event itself was super well organized. Got to ride in the GT3 car with Trent Hindman which ofcourse was absolutely bonkers! They then set me up with Davy Jones (1996 24 Hours of Lemans Winner) in a 2019 NSX with me behind the wheel. Got to experience the 4 mile oval, road course, slalom, 0-60 launches over 2 hours. I came away super impressed with how the car has wildly different personality between the 4 IDS modes kind of like a modern VTEC interpretation. No cameras were allowed but they took photos and sent us an personalized album after the event.
I finally ordered the car in march to have it in time for the summer. Went with a low optioned car.
1. Interwoven wheels
2. Carbon interior (wanted the alacantra headliner)
3. Full leather seats
4. Spoiler
5. Paint upcharge
Scott provided a seamless experience. Highly recommend him if you are in the bay area.
I was also hoping to time in such a way as to catch the Indy 500 and do the insider experience in may. COVID made all those well laid plans a dream!
The eventually was delivered bit ahead of schedule last week.
First impressions on the street (havent pushed it):
1. Still love the drive modes! The seats and ride for a jaunt around the city is just unbeatable (i can only compare to r8/gtr/911)
2. The forward visibility continues to amaze me. Feels like you are in a forza game
3. The silver trim reflections are a real distraction. plan to get them wrapped in matte carbon
4. Not having blind spot monitoring and a front camera sucks
5. The rear view camera is just shit.
Next steps:
1. PPF the car
2. Upgrade Steering wheel from Euroboutique
3. Interior and Exterior trim/roof CF wrap
4. CF Beak/front Splitter
Couple of questions:
1. Did they discontinue the build spec/drawing? or Is it mailed to you?
2. Is a free 1yr NSXCA membership still included?
Finally, Thanks to all the members here for sharing your experiences here. This forum has been immensely helpful and hope to contribute back to this community periodically.
