Just got a heads up about the following event from an email from the folks at Speedventures:

Do you race or drive a rear or mid engined Porsche? If so, Speed Ventures is hosting racing clinic tailor made for you at Willow Springs on Sunday, January 27. The Rear/Mid-Engine (RM) Racing Clinic is an excellent opportunity to improve your track day and racing skills in an all day coaching session lead by European Porsche-driver Carl Rydquist. Carl is a two-time winner of the Swedish Endurance GT Racing Championship, driving a Porsche 964 RS (2001) and Porsche 993 RSR in 2004.

Carl launched his international career by winning the Zandvoort 500 in a Porsche 996 GT3 RS in 2005 and followed that up with a 9th overall finish in the 2006 ADAC-Zürich 24 hours of Nürburgring in a 996 GT3 Cup car. He also qualified his team's 996 GT3 RS 18th out of 225 cars at the 2007 ADAC-Zürich 24 hours of Nürburgring running against works teams from Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin, and Audi.

In addition to racing, Carl practices precision and stunt driving professionally and has spent the last four years working as a test engineer and driver with Volvo Cars chassis development. He is an experienced racing instructor and it is our pleasure to offer this unique opportunity to our Porsche 911, Boxster, Cayman, 914, and 356 owners.

Speed Ventures' RM Racing Clinic:
The Speed Ventures RM Racing clinic will follow a group coaching program and is open to a maximum of 10 drivers. Carl will pay close attention to each individual's previous experience, theoretical knowledge, and skills driving a Posche on the track to ensure each driver gets the theory and practice he/she needs to become a faster and more skilled driver.

Carl will cover the following subjects in theory and will provide direct instruction and on-track "homework" assignments during the course of the day:

Basic Level:
The Basic Race Line for your Porsche
Rhythm: when and how to brake, steer and get back on the throttle in a Porsche
Mental Preparation On and Off Track: How to handle yourself and other drivers, as well as your car
Intermediate Level:
Analyzing and adjusting the race line to fit the unique qualities of your Porsche, the weather, tires, and as you increase your speed
Adding heel and toe downshifting to your natural rhythm
Level 2 Mental Prep: finding the limits of your car, self-discipline, becoming pro-active on track.
Advanced Level:
Perfecting the race line at all times: S's, chicanes, sweepers, crests, and driving a Porsche in the wet
Increasing speed and pace of rhythm, developing feel for your Porsche's chassis limits
Mastering your tires: develop a feeling for temperature, grip and behavior over time, learn how to preserve your tires
Level 3 Mental Prep: pushing the limits, self-discipline at the limits, and how to find advantages over other drivers and cars
Intelligent Passing and being passed intelligently
Driving on slicks
Professional level:
Analyzing your Porsche's behaviour and providing feedback to your engineers
Corner entry practice; perfecting trail braking with a Porsche
S-corner practice with a Porsche; left foot braking
Optimizing tire wear over longer sessions
Tricking opponents to enable passing otherwise not possible, and defending your position
Level 4 Mental Prep: identify your weeknesses and how to eliminate them to raise your game
Adjusting brake bias, swaybars, and other settings at the track
Interpreting data logging and finding "free" ways to better your laptimes
To sign up for the Speed Ventures RM Racing Clinic, sign up online for January 27 at Willow Springs and be sure to add the Racing Clinic to your registration (in step 7). The fee for the clinic is $220 for the day and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces are also subject to run group availability so be sure to sign up soon!

The clinic should prove to be worthwhile for the NSX owners as well given that it's a MR platform.

BTW: I'm not affiliated nor associated with the folks at Speedventures, just passing some information that I believe might be useful.

It seems REALY Porsche-centric. I'm not sure how they would feel trying to convey the same type of aspects towards a NSX. The two cars are worlds apart when applying higher level racing techniques.

Yep it seems Porsche centric because of what the description states:

That being said the way that a 911 (993/996/997) handles is very different from the way that a NSX handles however the way that a Boxster/Cayman handles is similar to the way that a NSX handles.

Boxster/Cayman/914/356 are MR cars after all.
