i do think they made a mistake in the fact u can only get a manual in the 250.
I agree, but the 350 is  306 hp w/ sequential paddle shifters

I used to think the new TL was sick, but at the same price range, I'm going with the 350.

I thought about selling the TL for one, but after seeing it in person and sitting in it I found it WAY too small. It is a tiny little car. The TL offers much more for the money. A loaded IS350 was over $40K! I think they are insane.

so are BMW 330i's... it's the class of cars anymore,

I look for the G35 to sell more as it's sitting cheaper in price now.

that said, i'd buy an IS250 or IS350, depending on which fit my budget. I loved the old IS, and the new ones are so much better.

The new IS is built off a shortned GS platform. Lexus went all out with this car, this time around. It has grown in all dimensions, and is similar in size to WORLD cars like the 3/A4/C-class (the TL is built for America in America, thus its bigger for our big butts). The Is 250 is avail with a manual or 6 speed auto and AWD is an option. Its not fast but not slow.

The IS 350 is the quickest car in its class, its an absolute rocket to drive. It handles well but IMO, not up to 330 specs (the steering feel is the biggest difference). You get the brakes from the GS 430 on the IS 350.

The interior is world class, its a truly luxurious place to be. I do miss the old IS 300 interior though, as it was GLADLY different than anything else. The new IS interior is luxurious like the rest of the Lexus line, nothing different about it.

Backseat room is small but I don't know many people who DON't buy a Sports Sedan b/c of backseat room. If your worried about backseat room, buy a ES 330.

Lexus continues to move upward in features and price, thus the IS 350 can get to over 40k easily (the 350 starts at 35k). Lexus is a VALUE against its German competition still. The other Japanese brands may offer more value as they HAVE to, to get sales, as their brand is not strong enough to command premium pricing.

Its an incredible car, the coupe/hardtop convert is coming soon too.

I assume rickysals was implying that the manual transmission should've also been offered for the IS350.

you'll get a IS250 for the price of a TL. My friend just got a IS350 and she paid over 40 for it. I got the TL for around 32 without Nav. Nice F-ing car tho..its a beauty.

I still think the new Acura line is NICE(TL,TSX, RL), but the IS 350 as far as performance, style and luxury is taking the cake @ $36,000 ...I do like the interor on the TL better then the IS though....

After you add options, it is well over 40K. The TL on the otherhand only has one option, NAV. While the IS350 might be faster, it doesn't offer near as much IMO. I think Lexus went too high on their pricing for this car. Time will tell how soon they offer discounts on it.

There's only one big difference between the TL and IS350 to me: FWD vs RWD. As much as I love Honda, until they make a RWD sedan I am forced with no choice but to go elsewhere.

Isn't the RL rear wheel drive???

I've been trying to keep up on the new IS 250 / 350 as well.
SpeedVision had a test drive episode of it and they loved it.. except the vehicle dynamic integrated management (VDIM) thing.

Well... word has is that it can be bypasses via an "easter egg."

Thinking about a test drive soon.

VDIM defeat
