I have had this for a few months now and it is great, the only bad thing is I have lost it at least 4 times.

haha i want a black one so i can just velcro it to my dash as mp3 player =)

they look great

wish they would have kept the 4 and 6 GB setups like the mini's had.

I have a 6GB mini and couldn't be happier.

how have you had one so long, it was only announced/released a week ago?

That's what I thought too. And does anyone know if they will be making a larger capacity version as well? I need more space.

Doubtful. Many Prime members are granted things because of "connections" they might have.
Well if that's true, then somebody here needs to get Takeo Fukui's phone number and get out the knee pads.

Doubtful. Very few people outside of Apple saw this before release, and those that did had them locked up in secure rooms.

Having worked extremely closely with Apple developing their graphics subsystem for a very long time (10 years now), I know how they work on new projects. All new projects are extremely hush-hush until the last minute. Pretty much the only clues were things like Apple increasing their NAND FLASH memory orders, but that could have been for a new Shuffle or whatever.

My friend has one...I dont see them as POINTLESS. However the size is pointless..the GB and the size of the product. I have roughly 13Gb of music, which comes out to be 6.5 days...little less...of non-stop music. Buying little things like this doesnt really make sense...for the price i rather buy a Dell DJ or a Creative product. Slightly to be out of the iPod "pod". My school has now even personly adressed iPods when it comes to electronics..not Mp3 players but iPods. I'll be slightly differnt and not go with the crowd and buy something I like, not what everyone else likes.

I have an Ipod photo, and I just love that thing. I use it in my car, controlled by my kenwood headunit. I take it to the gym, but its a lil on the big side. now i'm thinking of getting the nano.

just when you thought they couldnt come out with something "cooler", bam, they bring out the Ipod Nano. I'm slowly converting back to Apple computers. I bought a Mac Mini 2 weeks ago and i'm loving it. It's setup in the living room hooked up to a 42" plasma and home theatre system. I bought the 1.42 model with super drive and built in bluetooth and airport, w/ 80gb. Next on my wishlist is a G5 dual processor.

I'm still keeping my PC towers and laptop of course.

Everyone I know refers to every MP3 player as an Ipod. I don't really mind though. It's just like how people refer to all soda as "Coke". I had a friend in junior high who referred to all sport bikes as Ninja's.

we've got a stack of pc's in our house and recently added the g5.

fyi, with this product http://www.realvnc.com you can access/display/run your windows systems right from your mac - your laptop just becomes a window on your mac. $50 for the pro version, $35 for personal. very cool.

Someone gave me a red one to use in late July, good luck getting it back.
I just got back from Cedia show in Indy, there where at lest 10 different companies there with a new application for the Nano.

Thats nothing, I know a kid...roughly 12 years old...thought his mothers Honda coupe...red....was a ferrari...and with his obsession...we told him that there was a Ferrari on the highway just to see him spaz out and go...WHERE IS IT! WOW IT MUST BE FAST! WHERE?

Check it out jerkies!

As Apple moves to see 30% of 2006 Model year cars sold in the US have standard iPod connectors, Acura is making a bold statement.

In an Apple press conference held today, it was annouced several new car makers are being added to it’s list of companies which provide iPod integration in their vehicles. Acura and it’s parent company Honda are on the list, along with Audi, Volkwagen and previous addition BMW.

However Acura is taking it to the next level, introducing an unparalled level of integration and accessibility.

With the development of the Acura Music Link, Acura is poised to provide drivers with unparalleled freedom to access their iPod’s music collection in their car!

This new technology is the first of it’s kind to include text-to-speech capabilities or VoiceID.

This will allow drivers, or passengers the ability to search for playlists, artist and album names, or genre using only their voice, thus keeping their hands on the wheel, and eyes on the road.

In addition to the Acura Music Link, all of the standard head unit controls will also interface with the iPod providing further system integration.

As Greg Joswiak, Apple’s VP of iPod Marketing says, “We’re thrilled to team up with Acura to provide drivers with a seamless iPod experience.”

Acura vehicles already come equipped with the latest in audio technology, the addition of full iPod integration shows that the company is commited to staying ahead of the curve :toocool:

It’s expected the Acura Music Link adaptor will be available exclusively as a dealer installable option by mid-December!
