I've been going to F1 and Indy car races in Europe and North America for 40 years now, so consequently I am more than ever aware of how little I really know about the whole thing. However - I am convinced that Scott Dixon has what it takes to be a F1 world champion. He is as fast as Montoya but his mental makeup will adapt better to the politics of F1. His pursuit of Kanaan in Phoenix last week was truly impressive - right on the edge. Dario would make it too, but being an Indy car star and living with Ashley in Nashville certainly sounds better to me than going through the F1 grinder. I hope Scott's test with Williams goes well and they decide to hire him, and I hope Montoya enjoys cashing his large McLaren paychecks because from the look of it that is the only enjoyable thing at McLaren for the foreseeable future.

Actually what embarrasses me is that I've paid for a ticket to this year's Long Beach Grand Prix. As a long time ticket holder I hate to lose my premium seats so I reupped again this year hoping it is the last time I'll have to watch the once proud Champ Car series die a slow and painfull death. Last year was tough enough to watch - this year with 12 cars following Paul Tracy around the track will be a joke. Hopefully next year it will be an IRL event - you know Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet, Penske, Ganassi, Andretti-Green, Rahal, Fernandez, Cheever, Patrick....
