I work in old town Pasadena and there are a bunch of Texans walking around with t-shirts that say stuff like, "FUCK Y'ALL I'M FROM TEXAS".

Okay buddy. Can't wait till you go back there then. After losing to SC.

I was in SoCal for the Holiday and saw lots of UT fans in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica as well. One of my best friends went to UT and some went to SC.

Most of the friends I made at UT while visiting there are pretty cool. Sometimes idiots like the ones you saw actually make it out West and wear shirts that say stupid things.

I wonder what the saying on that shirt is supposed to mean? Is being from Texas something special? Is it that they don't care what others think because being from Texas somehow allows them to ignore good manners? Is it that they want us to have a negative impression of them before we even have a chance to meet them? Hmm...guess I'll never know...I'm not from Texas.

Re: From the state that gave us the eloquent Dubya

It's "screw y'all, NSXLuvr, screw y'all.

There is a student walking around the complex where I work at proudly displaying his longhorns shirt.

I came up to him and said, "Excuse me sir, you must be lost."

He smiles back and says I go to school here. He points to the double doors with the USC logo in front. There's a USC satellite campus next door to us.

I was like, WTF

Re: Texans can sure turn a phrase

It's "screw y'all, NSXLuvr, screw y'all.
Dubya butchered a few phrases his ownself; how about

"where wings take dream"
"at the whim of a hat"
"the human being and fish can coexist peacefully"

I laugh myself sick every morning with the Bushisms calendar.

You have never seen "Spongebob squarepants" have you?

There's no place like home!
There's no place like home! (Sandy starts crying)
I wish I was in Texas - Sandy Cheeks (with Junior Brown)
Wish I was back in Texas,
The ocean's no place for a squirrel
Wish I was in Texas,
Prettiest place in the world, oh no
I guess deep in my heart,
I'll always be a Texas girl
I wanna go hommmme...hoommmmme,
Yodel-ay-e-oh, yodel-ay-e-oh,
Yodel-ay-e-oh, a-lay-ee, a-lay-ee
I wanna wake up in Texas,
I miss those wide, open skies
I miss my twenty acres,
Barbeques and pecan pies, oh why
When I'm so far from you Texas,
All I can do is cry
Yodel-ay-e-oh, yodel-ay-e-oh,
Yodel-ay-e-oh, a-lay-ee, a-lay-ee
I wanna go hoommme,
I wanna go hooommmmme

Horns Hooked Em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad the Heisman balloting wasn't done after all bowl games were completed.

Don't you want to know who performs best in the most important championship games when all the marbles are on the table???

After last night, no question who would have won!!!!

The ending was straight out of the movie "Friday night Lights". Only the good guys win!!! Too bad USC better luck next time HAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHa:biggrin:

University of TEXAS FOOTBALL #1

From someone who hates football ALMOST as much as he hates NASCAR, does USC even know they need to tackle the guy running with the ball?

I know the Texas quarterback is badass, but come on. He made USC look like a high school defense out there.

Signed, someone from LA who is happy the best team won.

Texas played well and this win was well deserved. Their QB is awesome! I was rooting for SC, but I couldn't believe they gave up so many first downs. Good job Horns...now I have to listen to my buddy from UT rub it in for the rest of the week.

Espn took a poll (non-scientific) on their website to decipher which states were going for what team. It turns out 41 states were going for CA while the remaining 9 were going for Texas. Hmm...This reminds me of the last presidential election.. Anyways, "Hook em Horns".

after what the trojans did to my sooners last year, I was rooting for texas. Vince Young is a f-ing stud!!

USC dynasty DONE!! re-start!! hehe...

it was a great game!!

You're a good sport Mickey! That's the way it should be. We all have our thing to root about, but in the end it should be appreciating the effort made by both teams.

Just wondering why we don't see sculptures of giant beavers or razorbacks or whatever other mascot teams have picked, but we see a Roman symbol as something of our own? Howzat?

The old California thing about Texas, eh? Being originally from Ohio I'm not sure I understand that, but it seems Californians are somehow envious of Texans and chew on them. Texans on the other hand have an identity crisis of their own with the "Are you a real cowboy?" thing. Ohians have always struggled, so I feel out of place everywhere I go, and even moreso in Lousiana.

I think all of you should meet on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and discover what seafood is supposed to taste like!

So how do you feel now that you've told all those Texans about losing to USC?

Even AFTER TEXAS won the National Championship the poll still show a ton of coaches STILL voted USC as the champion. The BCS sucks! These so called experts should get into judging professional boxing. Some people cannot accept the FACT that the better team IS the best in the country.

The media was practically saying TX should just show up and forfeit to the mighty USC. Its great to see the "underdog" win. Texas had a better offense and defense going into the game by overall statistics. I think the media actually hurt USC by creating an aura of invincibility. Vince the efficient quarterback was the NSX in this game. While Reggie Bush (the Heisman) was the Corvette. Just wait until the NFL !

WE WON!!! WE WON!!! WE WON!!!!

I'm sorry, I am not trying to pick on the USC fans. I am just ecstatic that Texas won and is National Champions for the 1st time in 35 years.

Vince was incredible.

Oh and Orisis - you better leave town now while the going is good.
