Just got a call from my mech. he said that my cats are clogged and causing the CEL light to come on and told me that stock cats are 1000.00!!?? did a search on prime and many ppl recommended test pipes. my question is

1) how will the car perform or will it perform with test pipes with stock H/I
2) emissions issues in CA?

any help is greatly appreciated.. thanks!

Dali sells the Comptech High Flow cats for $695 a pair:

The list price for the OEM cats is 1129.11 each. With the 25% discount that you can get from certain dealers that's still a whopping $1700 for the pair.

I'd check with Dali and SoS and see if they have a used set of OEM cats lying around that they could sell you. They pop up every so often.

Dali's site says those are for 91 - 94.
I actually posted that before I saw he has a '95 then recollected much more valuable information regarding the warranty on the OEM emissions system.

However regarding the Dali link, if you pull down the menu, the same cat is available for 95's too. But why would you get those when you can have them replaced for free?

It pays to hang around this site 'wasting' countless hours - even the stuff that isn't personally directly relevant sticks somewhere in the nether regions!

You are so right! I recall reading about that as well. What were the specifics again?
