My oil pressure is usually around 6 kg-cm2 on my trip to and from work(80mph, 3,000rpm). Today I looked down at it was at 4!

I put it in 5th, and then in 4th and the pressure didn't really increase. I gunned it a little, and still nothing. I turned around to take it to Acura, and when I got into traffic it went back to normal. I checked the oil level and its fine so I decided to just go home, and the entire trip home it was at 6 kg....

I wondering if I should worry, and what it could be.
I did just get the oil changed a week ago, so maybe a bad oil filter?

When oil pumps fail, do they do act weird right before hand?

Often a pressure relief valve takes more force to open than to stay open. When they finally give the pressure can drop suddenly. You can kind of tell when one is open. If the pressure changes with RPM the valves are closed; if you gun it with no change, as you did, one or both valves are open. 4 kg/cm^2 is well above spec.

1 kg at idle is fine right? 4kg at 3,000rpm is okay?
Any general rule of thumb as to when to pull over and shut the car off?
Say for example if it drops to 2-3kg on the highway at 3,000rpm?

My gauge changes with the moon phase.
I have to get a new sensor that mounts at the top of the engine.
I've wiggled the lead wire there and got different pressures.
Do a search, there is a few leads on this baby.
Also there is a Acura March 2/1992 Service Bulletin 91-008 on low oil pressure guage reading that is good to read. Showing you all the parts involved on your oil pressure gauge.
Remember the oil pressure light is run off of a different sensor located near your oil filter at the bottom of your engine. Dont confuse the two.
