Tein S-tech coils question

This is probably a silly question, but I must ask.

I received some Tein S-tech coils this Christmas and am planning on installing them this weekend. I opened the box yesterday and saw that the coils had a purple plastic material on three areas of the coil.

Does this remain on the coil when installed or do I merely remove it?

I called Tein in Downey and the Technical support guy gave me an unsure response which was to remove it.

best to leave it on. It will help metal to metal contact noise.

Thanks for your response.....I can't believe the Tech. support is so useless. :frown: , but all in all I'm dropping my NSX :biggrin:
