Just received email from [email protected]
Looks like the Tein Flex is available for the NSX NA1 NA2

BTW Tein flex is MSRP at $1460.
Typical flex will feature:

2 way height adjustable body
pillow mount. (camber adjustable on certain applications)
16 way damper adjustment.
teflon coated threaded body
and EDFC compatible.

NSX specs are 10kg/mm front and 12kg/mm rear springs.

Everyone in the market for coilovers should look serious at these.. I will be shopping for this in a few months. I'm running Tein HA on my IS300 and I love them Teins.

This is the email I received today. 8/31/04

Fred,
Hello and thank you for your interest in TEIN High Performance
Suspension. The Type Flex for the NSX just arrived yesterday from Japan.
You would be able to order the Type Flex with 10kg/mm rear springs, they
retail for $50.00each. If you have any other questions feel free to contact
us.
Best regards,
Sales

Subject: Flex of NSX NA1

Hello:

I see in the Tein website that the Flex for NA1 NSX will be coming soon.
Is there a Estimated time of availability for this suspension setup?
I am very interested in the suspension kit.

Also Is there an option to get 10kg front and 10Kg rear? The spec list
10kg front and 12kg rear.

Thank you.

10kg/mm front 12 rear has proven to induce too much oversteer from other testimonials on prime,so beware.

I would imagine the 10kg front and equally matched 10kg rear would be a bit better for oversteer - possibly making the car a bit more neutral? (Obviously other factors affect this such as tire size front/rear, etc.)

Besides the compatability with EDFC (and the price), what are the differences in the TEIN flex vs. the RAs?

A lot. The Flex isn't even in the same league as the RA.

RA-Aluminum
Flex-Painted steel

RA-monotube
Flex-twin tube

Flex-Only available in the US because the Japanese customers know better.

:)

How are the flex for street use you think ??

so against RA got nothing on it ??

How bout EDFC ??

I'm not sure. It's just been released so we'll have to see. The only thing I really worry about for everyday use is corrosion. The steel bodies are likely less durable than the aluminum bodies of the more expensive setups.

And the EDFC is convenient to be sure, but it may fit on the RAs or REs. You may want to check with Tein.

True Steel contruction. but it is nicely finished with a tein signature green paint. Also the threaded body is coated with telfon. so you will see a Black color threaded body unlike another coilover susp kit.

Not to say Flex is better than RA or RE.. Aluminum body have better weight and heat transfer advantage. but type flex has been a long time favorite for other JDM make cars. Like WRX, IS300. also a few $$$ less.
