1. Use a blade to slice off the old hoses. Be careful not to cut into the aluminum.

2. Once removed, clean the pipes with a light abrasive SOS pad. Be careful not to get anything in the pipe.

3. THE TRICK - Heat the new hoses in very hot water to get them more flexible. Once warm, USE CHAPSTICK TO LUBE THE HOSE. The wax will help the new hose slide on. The wax will melt away once the car is at operating temperature.

4. Be sure to be careful when removing the clamp between the firewall and engine that is the smallest of the three coming from the front of the car. It has to be grabbed on all three points, and will tweak the clamp if you only have two of the points.

5. Be sure to order all the hoses and replace them all at once. I will post the par numbers in the morning.

Another option in lieu of the Chapstick is to use a little bit of a water-based "personal" lubricant (i.e. KY, Astroglide).

Unlike oil based lubricants, it will simply evaporate or dry out as the temps increase.

Obviously you don't want to use oils or grease on the hoses in order to make them slide on easier.

Happy hosing!

We have complete hose kits in stock for most years:
