Does anyone know if you unhook the TCS CPU if this will effect the car in a negative way other than non operational TCS.
I had someone tell me that the NSX will have a code in the main CPU and will go into safe mode.

As far as I know, there is no other effect to the car. The TCS can fail and go into a fail-safe mode itself, but it operates independent of the ECU. Maybe that’s the confusion.

I don't think it'll cause problems either. I think the TCS can put inself in a FS mode, and the ECU can put the TCS in a FS mode, but the TCS can't put the ECU in a FS mode. The TCS can exercise control via input to the ECU, but if the TCS is "missing" that shouldn't be an issue. I don't know if the ECU will log a code or not, but if it does and you know about it then that shouldn't cause any secondary problems either.

I'm curious - why are you disconnecting it?

I have run my targa with the tcs unplugged and the track rat with the computer on the floor of my garage, both with no problems. Unplug it and have fun

You can remove the TCS alltogether with no negative effects. The Main ECU will store a code 36, but this code does not effect anything and does not even light up the check engine light (at least in my '94).
