tarver vs jones

game-over...

Surprised he/Jones didn't go down in the 11th, he got roughed up pretty bad. (easy unanamous decision for Tarver)

Either the competition the past 10yrs or so was azz in the middle-to-light weights & Roy Jones Jr, DeLaHoya, and Trinidad were just opportunistic...

-or-

The 35-40 professional fights barrier is the limit for those guys, as they rapidly have declined thereon. Not even mediocrity!

appreciate the reply...I expected Tarver to win but damn if the cable didn't go out in the 9th round. I guess we're still having problems down here due to Katrina. BTW...this is not SNDSOUL's opinions, but those of his best friend Kurt from Mobile. What's up guy's?

Thanks again for the info...we've been cut off from the real world.

Kurt, glad to hear you're hangin' in there... tryin' time it must be for ya'll. Be safe, and regards to Brett.

Yea, Jones was sluggish and just didn't throw/connect on alot of his punches. Tarver was in cruise-control. Decent fight though...

TArver did win. Won by HUNANIMUS decision. Roy decided to do his chicken neck, playin the showboat game throughout the fight, entertaining but seems he tried playin a chess game to get that one good hit. Roy at 36 is in good shape to keep doing this but seemed to be afraid to get knocked around by BIG blows. True but I felt on the 2nd round when he gave a good body shot to Tarver he should have continued instead of hitting one at a time and Tarver coming back with his double or countering triple jabs at times. NExt weeks fights should be good. 2 fights with repeaters, hopefully these are good which the rematches scheduled. Sorry can't remember names at the moment. I was routing for Jones but overall, what can you do when only one person is fighting. A 5 million dollar payday per fighter is one heck of a paycheck.
