Taitec GTLW drone issue

I have had the Taitec GT Lightweight exhaust on my car for about two years now.
In general, I have been pretty happy with the exhaust and have had many compliments on how the car sounds, although some people find it a bit loud.
Actually, that includes myself and especially so on long trips at constant speeds.
Some people have complained about the GTLW creating a drone at low speeds but I am wondering if anyone has had a certain droning effect at around 100mph.
I often drive at around this speed or just below it. The GTLW seems to drone at around 100mph +- 4mph, but this drone goes away at speeds of around 90mph or above about 105.

I was wondering if more people have this effect.

What year is your NSX and do you have stock exhaust manifolds. I believe that the droning is related to the 91-96 manifolds and goes away with the
97+ or non-stock manifolds.

I have that exhaust on a 93 and it droned like hell between 1700-2300 RPM. I can't say I ever had it at 100MPH long enough to notice a drone there.

You could try some exhaust wrap to soak up the resonance. I think someone on this board made a jacket to warp his up.

+1, I had the GTLW with headers and no drone. My GM drones no matter what I do.:frown:

I don't even notice the droning in mine anymore. Then again, that could mean I have gone deaf already.

91 with Comptech headers, stock cats and GTLW with no drone.

All I know is that my GTLW is loud.DC headers.I think all the stuffing has blown out of the can.It sounds amazing but loud.At NSXPO I couldnt get anyone with a targa that would follow me.

I have a friend from Idaho that warned me about not getting a GTLW because there was some guy from NSXPO that had one and it was so loud that he couldn't even drive near the guy. What are the chances he was talking about you? :biggrin:

Glad I didn't listen. Mine's fine. Loud when you're hard on the gas but actually pretty resonable under normal accelleration and cruising. And it sounds so sweet.....
