I think this hood looks better than their older model.

They also have rain protector as an option.
Good thing is that you don't have to take out your spare tire.

 Non-functional vents -- Looks only I guess.
They are functional, they have the cover to shut the rain so that you don't get any water under the hood, but the air can still go through.

Taitec never makes something not functional.

A cover that lets air through but not water?hmmm Not that it matters but you get water spray from the bottom of the car anyway.

One of our Prime members is working on a closed underbody construction in combination with a vented hood. I guess this would prevent the spray from the bottom.

BTW: I don't like the look of this Taitec hood, I prefer my one-scoop Taitec NSX-R copy, but that's just a matter of taste - don't know about the functional differences.

I should have brushed up on my NSX knowlege before asking this, but what exactly is there in the front that needs venting?

the front vending should help cooling radiator and other stuff in there?

I know that you should have vending for some function because JGTC cars have one too. Not for aerodynamics, if you want front downforce, usually you can put canard on front bumper.

I think "vending" from a moving vehicle is against the law in most states.

Looks like the wooden blinds I grew up seeing in my parents windows.Looks kinda like an add on. Just my 3cents

I like the old hood way better.

The angled scoops look so much sexier...they're much rounder with that little lip around hte outside and not just a straight angle lift in the body around the louvers.

I just think that those scoops that close together, straight on, and with the hard edges looks horrible

If the hood does indeed have vents, it'll noticeably help both in downforce and cooling if there is something to deflect the air up and through the vents.

FWIW, I think the NSX-R replica hood is much much better looking.

Feel the old hood has a cleaner look. IMO
Anyone know where I can find one in the states?
Doesn't Chris and SOS stil sell them?

i LOVE the single nsx-r vented hood in comparison to those with the vents/louvers...

I guess its just personal taste, but for me the vented louvered ones look pretty good on widebody cars with alot of mods.
