Hey Guys.
Sure most are tired of this subject now, but I decide to dive in with both feet and try to make my own set of taillights and side lights. Will be looking at the LED bulbs. What is out there just does not fit on my project car. After spending the day reading about all the taillights and side light questions and answers. I came home and tore mine apart. Both of mine are in just fair condition and was going to replace them any ways. So nothing to lose here.
Rear Side marker. I just took a exacto blade and ran it around the light lip a few times and it just came lose. YEAH. Every one said you could not remove these with out breaking them.
Taillight. After reading some one posted to use boiling water to losen the glue. I decided I would try my bathtub. So I took all the parts off of the light and laide the lens and shell in the bathtub and turned the water on as hot as I could get it. After about 10 minutes of it soaking I started very easy with a flat screw driver prying it up around the side and places and in no time I had it off. It took me about 7 minutes to get it off. Once I had it started coming apart. I just simply slide the screw driver down the lights. Once you get it apart. Try to remove as much glue as you can.
Ok. So I never saw any pictures of what all is in the taillight assembly. So I took some pictures to show you guys what I have found out. Seem like a very complex set of lens for what all it does.
You can also see what I am doing to my car.
