i was told that to fix water leaks into the trunk (moisture) and also into the tailights; that i should check into changing out the gaskets. i can definetly tell that my passenger side taillight is leaking.... any idea how much the gaskets costs?

thanks in advacned

I am going through the same process now (addressing water leaking into my tail lights), and just purchased a set of gaskets online at http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/acura/jsp/mws/catdisplay.jsp . It's Acura Carland, an Acura dealership in Atlanta, GA. Their prices were the lowest I found anywhere. You will need four gaskets total (two for each side). The two large gaskets are $26.04 each, and the two small gaskets are $15.57 each. They are part nos. 3, 5, 10 and 12 on the tail light system diagram.

If you feel like saving a few bucks you can get the gasketing material in bulk and use your old gaskets as templates to cut out new gaskets. CRX's have the same problem and that's a common fix for them.
Where do you buy the gasket material?

Just want to let you know that sometime even changing the tail-light gasket will not fix the moisture in the tail-light. I changed both gasket and one of the tail-light still get moisture inside everytime after the car get washed.

On tail light assembly illustration, did not see gasket for center light. Do you know part number for center gasket part? Mine hasn't dried since I got my car two months ago. BTW how effective is drilling hole? A bit concerned with drilling anything on my car. Thanks.

I too have this issue but only after my 2002 rear valence was done, I will put new seals on my to do list

I appreciate your posting and help on this subject, one thing though, there is a place that is even cheaper and you get more of a discount when you mention youre a member of NSXPrime.

Ive done a lot of buying from these guys and they have always delivered, given me the discount on top of the lowest prices and when you speak with them they know what they are talking about. I live in NYC and I dont work in any way for these guys nor know anybody who does , so this is an honest straight up posting to help us all save money on our honnies (cars) in anyway we can! Thanks again for your posting.

There isn't a gasket for the center tail light. The four mounting posts just have small gaskets on them.

The center tail light is glued together. You may try removing it from the car and apply a bead of glue around the seam. I use 3M Plastic and Trim Adhesive. Silicone doesn't work real well for sealing edges like we have here. It works fine for joints that are in between two parts.
Drilling a small hole near the bottom edge works to remove the water. I have used that method in the past. An 1/8th inch hole is big enough.

Go easy on the socket when you tighten the nuts back down. They don't need to be too tight, just snug.

I slapped these on with a new set of tails last night The whole kit was from dali. Examining the whole thing i think the gasket just keeps water from getting in the trunk. Like brad mentioned The whole light is sealed except for the bulb mounts. I found a tiny crack in the top inside of my old ones that was letting water get in. (I saw litttle fisheys swimming in there). BTW removing the tails is a pain and the old sticky gaskets was even worse. I didn't replace the far edge gaskets (blinkers) as they looked in good order and i was too lazy. Let me know if you want them they are brand new.

Try running a thin bead of clear-drying silicone sealant along the top seam of both taillights. The top seams of the taillights open up a little with age.
