i know this is a stupid question(buti gotta ask). i have read on this site that to get rid of condensation in the tail lights you can drill a small hole in the bottom of the light. so is this a light out job or do you just drill a small hole in the underside of the light while it is still fixed to the car!!

You can solve this by removing the tail lamp, and running a hair dryer to the back of the lamp through the bulb hole for an hour or so to remove the moisture. When finished, check seals for leaks or holes to minimize this happening again.

Cheers,

jaytip, I did that one year ago and it worked perfectly. You need to take out the taillight to drill the holes. Use a 4mm drill and drill two holes per side. It will be invisible from the outside!

Correct me if i'm wrong here, but if you were trying to get rid of a moisture problem, why would you drill a hole in the lamp, thereby compromising the seal? I dont think the law of physics would only allow water to get out, and not let moisture in through that same hole eh?
