I've been wondering about this for a long time, and haven't found anything. Does anyone know what the tabs on the body trim piece at the top of the windows is for? Is it for wind noise? They don't look like anything for guiding the window since the window goes under the trim piece. Anyone know, or have any ideas? Thanks.

referring to this??

see this thread if you are referring to the tab in the pic below

Yep, that's it. Wonder why I couldn't find that thread....
I'm sure it's there for a reason, it's just hard to buy by looking at it.
Blow out guide -- ok. Thanks!

I pulled the tabs off on my Acura Legend a few years back and havent noticed any difference. However, I guess I dont really take that car much beyond 85 or 90. Of course, that car also has the optional side window visors so maybe they perform the same function...

FWIW, I thought about removing these tabs to get a slightly cleaner look while my car is in the body shop. Unfortunately, if you remove them, it leaves a notch in the trim piece. :frown:

My 928 had tabs like that. They are for guiding the window in its track when going at high speed. When going fast, the window glass tends to get sucked outward by airflow.

At least thats what I think. I never go that fast :)
