Would appreciate some help.Doing a Major svc and a T-belt on a '97 with a comptech blower. The main thing is do I need to remove the blower before I take the pulley brackets off or am I able to remove the tensioner, bracket assm without taking the blower off.It looks like I just have to take off the belt and the brackets, not pull the blower. Please tell me i'm rightThe blower brackets seem to have a lot of blind bolts I never pull the Alt bracket on a normal t-belt .No need to and those two 14'S are under the intake .Is that true .thanks in advance for any info.DaveH

There might be a remote possibility you can get the bracket off without removing the blower, but it would really not be a good idea. It is very tight in there, and the entire job will be slower, harder, and more painful with the blower in place. I am not sure you would actually be able to get the lower timing cover out, very doubtful. I can assure you this, I will never find out, I take it off:).

First time, going cautiously, maybe two hours to get the blower off. Remember you do not have to disassemble it, just take the entire blower/manifold off together as a unit. You have a 1997 so the EVAC is not there, and I recall only one small coolant line for that year.

Thanks Larry.I was able to weasel it out.Took the blower pully off and the non grooved one on the tensioner setup and out it came.I always take the lower cover out the bottom .I pull the big brace where the e-brake cables attach off and the lower control arm inner bolts off .Spin it out of the way and everything falls out the bottom. Thanks for your help anyways.Dave H.
