Finally going to get the car out of the cocoon, (after years) and bring it down here to Palm Beach and I want someone to do the T/B, W/P, LMAs, crank pulley, coolant hoses, (I can do these if I have to) etc.... and I need to know who would be the best to do it. I have ALL the Honda parts still in original bags.
I'm capable of doing the work but having never done this level of work on the NSX I don't want to chance screwing it up due to lack of experience on this model car doing it by myself for the first time.
Done it countless times on my Preludes, (many) over the years and working as a helicopter and twin aircraft mechanic / inspector for the last thirty years i'm sure I could but i'm just a pussy and don't want to take a chance on my car.
As I said i'm just an aircraft inspector so I don't have bags of money and am willing to help, to learn if nothing else, but a quality job at a fair price would be appreciated.
Changing the hoses would be easy for me and i'm hoping the person would be willing to do the work with the engine / trans out of the car.

This NSX is in perfect factory OEM condition except for the Comp-Tech, Jet Hot coated headers and exhaust and the Type-R hood which will be getting painted GPW here at the aircraft paint shop while the car is down for work.

Thanks.

The only suggestion that I will make is that if you are going to outsource the TB and water pump replacement, it makes sense to do the coolant hoses at the same time because of the requirement to drain coolant for the water pump replacement. Hose replacement / draining the coolant does require a hoist or jack stands because of the need to get the NSX up in the air to drain the coolant from the pipes underneath the car. The hose replacement activity isn't quite as simple as on a front engine car. I suggest allowing a minimum of 4 hours for hose replacement and cooling refill - burping the NSX can be time consuming. If you are going to do the hose replacement and refill yourself, I suggest one of those vacuum refill tools if you have a suitable air compressor to drive the extractor.

You talk about pulling the engine and transmission out of the car. That certainly makes the TB job easier; but, that is not the norm. The engine has to come out the bottom (or the car has to come off the top!) so engine removal is not quite the 'snap' that it is with a front engine rear drive car. If you are looking for a fair price, I don't think that is consistent with planning on the removal of the engine.

I have a large aircraft hanger and stands to do the work in but still reserved in never doing it before on the NSX.

Isn't Nabil at first class auto the closest option in Florida? I think he's either in Orlando or Tampa. If you are DIY, I strongly recommend taking the engine out. Makes it much, much easier to get to the hoses, TB, covers, gaskets and also doing the valve adjustment. If you've done the 'Lude, you can do the NSX. Just take your time, follow the manual and ask questions on Prime. :D You will need a few special tools though.

Nabil at First Class Auto in Orlando is the only person I would recommend bringing your car too. If you've never done it before it's a pretty steep learning curve, but having the manual in hand and some mechanical background is a plus. For what you're looking to do, pulling the motor is the best way to go and isn't difficult as long as you have a lift.

T/b w/p

I have tools and manuals and between Prime and Kaz i'm sure I can do it but as before, for the first time i'm a pussy and just want to be sure it's done right.
I'd like to find somebody closer to me down here in Palm Beach if possible.
I've considered Del Ray Acura but i'd think there's somebody besides paying dealership prices especially since I already have all the genuine Honda parts for the job.
