I have a 91 NSX that I acquired about 3 months ago.

I want to run synthetic oil but I do not think the previous owner ran synthetic.

Will there be an issue with oil leaks or excessive oil consumption by switching to synthetic. The car has 54,000 miles and I just put a supercharger on it.

No. Go right ahead and switch.

From the Mobil 1 website:

MYTH: Mobil 1 will leak out of the seals of older cars.

REALITY: Mobil 1 does not cause leaks.
In fact, new Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ was tested in dozens of industry standard and OEM tests to prove its seal performance. It is fully compatible with the elastomeric materials from which all automotive seals and gaskets are made.

ExxonMobil engineers are wary of conventional oils that tout their use of additional seal-swelling agents. With extended use, these agents can over-soften engine seals, resulting in leaks. More to the point, an oil additive will not rejuvenate worn or damaged seals. The damaged seal may have been caused by a worn rotating metal component in the engine.

If an older engine is in good condition and does not have oil leaks, Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ provides the same advantages as when used in a new engine. ExxonMobil recommends taking measures to repair the leaks, then using Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™. ExxonMobil also always recommends following the automobile manufacturer's manual for the proper oil to use.

OK then. I'll go get some Mobil 1.

The NSX uses 10-30, correct? What is the oil capacity. (Just lazy to go to the garage and check).

Too lazy....don't you have split thickness mucoperiosteal flap surgery planned to do today???

The capacity is 5.3 qts with the filter change. I usually fill the filter 3/4 with fresh oil before I screw it onto the mount.

And yes, 10W-30 is the correct weight.

I prefer the Full Thickness Flaps but I have the week off since my baby was born last Thursday.

Thanks for the info Doc!
