My sway bar is touching the battery tray. Normal after the car is lowered? Whats the solution here? This is not even a thick bar, its the type R bar. Should I dremel the edge of the tray?

I use spacers between the battery tray bolts and the car. Ie drop the tray 1/4". Just go to the hardware store and get some collars that fit the bolts for the tray. Btw bet its also hitting the middle raised area of the tray too (right side of the picture).

Ps told you so earlier. :p

So the whole tray is not hard to remove? When you dropped yours 1/4" did that clear your 1" track bar? I don't think the middle is hitting but I will check. I was hearing a squeaking and wondering what it was... I think its this. everytime I hit a bump... ee-ee... ee-ee...

is that factory or aftermarket bar ?

Four bolts. It's easier if you pull the battery first, alot lighter. But you can do it with out. Jack the car up, climb underneath and you will see the tray just bolts up.

Type R bar. And I was possibly going to go thicker.

Thanks. I'll try some spacers. I have some washers that are thick... 1/8" to 3/4" a nice selection of hard plastic ones. But that sucks this will now interfere with my splitter... lol

Hey what are you using for lugnuts up front? did you go to ARP studs?

The h&r studs that came with the spacers. Oem lugs with my 02 wheels.

Go back and search for my thread about snapping arp studs when tracking. It was the centering rings with my enkei wheels. Removed the centering rings and never snapped a stud again.

You can dremel the edge off the tray, but I bet it's also resting on the middle raised part of the tray. Check it there. If not, just cut the edge of the tray.

Isn't it rubbing the type r lower bar too?

I had to remove mine to run the Dali 1"

You only need to lower the front of the battery tray by about 0.5" and use also half the thickness of the sway bar spacer at the mount - amply discussed before. Clears the Type R bar and the battery tray.

And also in one of your other threads/post where I noted you may want to move the radiator hose 0.25" up to allow a shorter track bar sopacer at the mount.

No. I have some clearance. Not much, but enough. Its a factory R bar and a factory R lower chassis bar (which probably does nothing now since I have the STMPO FCB).

Hrant thanks for the links. The strange thing is, I did not change sway bars, I didn't know lowering the car causes this interference with the battery tray and I am surprised it is not talked about more.

Most people aren't slammed. How low did you go? 2"? more?

The body is lower but the ends of the sway bar are the same height because the wheels stay the same height the body is lowered, so the ends are pushed up and the center section is pushed down.

I am way up from those pics you saw. I am higher than synth. Once I installed the washers on the coilovers that sit above the threaded nut and those funky hyperco helper springs and the coupler, it came way up. Which is good because I was maxed out. Then he adjusted rake per the NSX guidelines and aligned it. I think I am probably 1.75 lower now. Maybe 2..

The pictures have been deleted since I hit my max on posting pictures a while back. If you want the step by step details send me your e-mail and I'll forwad them.

Is this for the tray? or the lower chassis bar? I don't have a problem with the lower chassis bar. I'll PM you.
