He was trying to steal his valve stem caps, not his valve covers.

Opening the hood to steal the valve covers would be a bit more conspicuous.

Not to be picky, but also - it was a BMW guy, not a Supra guy.

A Supra guy probably would have shot the kid...

Someone stole my wheel caps.

I have to get a set shipped in from the UK.
You can bet I'll be crazy gluing them to the wheel.

The BMW owner went too far when he took pictures and threatened the kid with time in jail.
It was funny though.
