Are cars with superchargers and other mods generally worth more or less
on resale. I am looking at a few cars-curious.

It depends on the mods. Some Gaudy wing or strange wheels or some big aftermarket stereo can kill a car, especially a newer one, but other mods like a Comptech Supercharger are desirable by many if not all people. A lot of times, if you like the mods, you will get them cheap buying them on the car than buying a stock car and then doing it yourself. A nice exhast system may set you back $1500-2000 easy with install, but if its on the car already, I doubt the seller is charging anymore for it than if it were stock.

You can post the mods or cars here and owners can give you feedback.

I consider my current car pretty much perfectly modded. Everything I've wanted to do over the years with other NSX's I owned but never managed to get off my ass and do. I paid a premium for what I considered a perfect car, but of course the pool of buyers is much smaller so the sellers have to hold out to find that buyer that is looking for the mix of parts that they're selling.

I'm in the same boat. I waiting two years to find a car that had the exact mods that I was looking for, but it was worth the wait. I saved a tremendous amount of money and paid a 9K premium for around 40K in aftermarket parts.

you interested in selling? :)

Yeah I dunno about that. I've lost a huge amount of money on my Condo since I bought it. I could probably sell my NSX right now for the exact same amount I paid for it. Of course I don't consider the NSX an investment, but there are much worse things I could've done with that money.

nsx; $40,000
tank of gas; $50
ultimate driving experience; priceless

To suggest investing in a nsx is bad investment does not apply here

Oh don't get me wrong. Trust me I have spent a lot of money on my hobbies. People find it useless, pointless, and etc.

The experience and enjoyment gained is priceless and cannot be bought with money. Forgot what it's called but in chinese it's called wealth at heart.

I love my SC'd NSX.. honestly the best way to go.

Is there a significant difference when you supercharge your nsx? Where do you notice the increase in hp most? lower rpm or mid/high? Does this mod put extra strain on engine/transmission? And how about the clutch?

I imagine it must sound pretty cool in the cabin to hear the whine of the supercharger belt

Heavily modified cars are worth more, but to a smaller audience; they take longer to sell, but they sell for a significant premium.

Here is the power comparison between stock and turbo nsx:

I think it's safe to say you're going to feel a significant difference with an additional 100+ rwhp, and 150+ rwtq.

The above comparisons are run at 8.0psi of boost pressure, a low level safe for stock motors; the clutch is a component which should be upgraded with a stronger version when replacement is required, the transmission is fine until around 600whp.

At the risk of coming off as an "internet expert" IMO at 8 PSI boost both systems should produce about the same HP. I think there would some variance in tuning, environmental conditions, and most importantly, Dynamometer used.
8 PSI over ambient is 8 PSI no matter how it is developed.
I would agree there are certain advantages to HP's shorter exhaust and intake lengths in throttle response but Wil's kit has advantages in heat soak limitations by his turbo placement.
Both systems (as well as Love-Fabs etc) have their pros and cons which is why there is no definitive "best" system. Especially when cost, support, availability, etc, etc, is factored in. It turns into which system is best for you.

But once again IMO, in a perfect world and for the NSX, turbo is the way to go.
This from someone who just bought a Basch system.

Oneday I might just be an owner of an extreme turbo nsx..... but for now, I'm in the perfect seat of my SC'd nsx... Couldn't ask for more and had spent thousand of $$$$$ and countless hours putting this baby to my perfection..... WILL ASK NO MORE....
