I have been a passionate NSX owner and I am selling my supercharged Silverstone 2001 NSX after 20 years of ownership. I can no longer sit comfortably in the car.
Purchased in December 2005 from Montano Acura in Albuquerque, I am the second owner. Car was purchased with 8,000 miles, odometer at 97,100 today. In 2006 the right lower front bumper valence and right front fender were hit by a rolling wheel cover which put a sizeable scratch in the paint. Those areas were repainted. This was reported to Carfax as "minor damage". The car has not been in any accidents. Clean title, no liens. Carfax report in hand for you to examine. This car has spent its life in the desert southwest and always garaged when not in use.
In 2011, Science of Speed installed their supercharger kit. Car produces 415HP at the wheels. Engine management is via an AEM Series II ECU. Other modifications include: KW V3 adjustable suspension (car is lowered 3/4 inch and corner balanced), ARK lightweight exhaust, cryo treated slotted brake rotors, and a Kyoto radiator to handle the extra engine heat produced by the supercharger.
Tires are Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 mounted on Volk Racing AV3 17"/18" wheels. Original 7-spoke wheels are included if you're willing to pay the shipping. I have 2 new Yokohama rear tires ready to be installed when the time comes; again they are yours if you pay the shipping.
The interior is stock. It is hardwired for a radar detector. The AM/FM/CD player works well, and I have added an iPod connection to the stereo. An air:fuel ratio guage is installed inside the glove box. Seats show appropriate bolster wear. Climate control works properly, and there are no cracks in the dash.
I have 20 years of maintenance records. Oil changes were performed every 5,000 miles. Recently, a new clutch/flywheel were installed in the summer of 2024 at 94,000 miles. All fluids have been changed in 2022-23. Timing belt service was performed in 2023 at 91,000 miles. All maintenance has been done by either Montano Acura or Science of Speed.
Pro's: It's an NSX; need I say more?
Con's: Cruise Control is not working properly. After two trips to Montano Acura for repairs, it is felt the car may need a new combination switch section of the steering column. Therefore, I have learned to live without cruise control. Also, the well known NSX problem of left turn signal early cancellation affects this car. The problem is more pronounced during cold weather. Again, I have learned to live with it.
References on request. PPI's welcome.
