Has anyone sucessfully removed the warning stickers from their sunvisors? Are they just labels that peel off? Maybe heat from a hair dryer? I'd like to get them off, but don't want to damage the visor.

Get some cotton wadding and soak it in denatured alcohol. Then apply the wet cotton to the stickers. Repeat until they fall off. Good luck.

Did this method described work successfully? Do you have any pictures to show what it looked like after removal? Do you still see an imprint of the warning label or any glue residue?

Thanks,
T.

Yep, and I PM'd both people from the thread, and one of them got back to me and was helpful. But in case others have dealt with this, figured might as well put it out there. As someone who doesn't like large stickers ruining the clean look of my visors, buying the replacement ones for my 91 bothered me that they had the stickers. Figured others must've felt the same way along the way.

You do realize this thread is 12 years old!!??

I've found the easiest approach is to cover them, and I've done that on a number of cars. Your local sign companies will have an assortment of the vinyl material used for cutting lettering and graphics, and this material comes in hundreds of colors. Just get some raw material in the closest match to your visor color, the you can hand-cut overlays to cover the stickers. Easy for me to say as I own a sign company, but you shouldn't have any problem getting someone to sell you some material. Another benefit is they are removable should a potential buyer be anal about originality.

I was a little freaked out by the denatured alcohol label at the hardware store. I'm still trying to get clarification if the member meant turpentine or something? Either way, I used Goo Gone and my finger nail. I only have about 1/3 of the sticker off so far as it is a ridiculously slow process. But it is coming off with no damage underneath from taking it off. I'll post a few pics when I'm done.

What was the outcome? Although I don't have sun visors a friend was asking me how to safely remove the sticker.

There was a similar thread where someone found a Goo Gone type of substance that lifted the sticker off intact, so it could be put back on later with some double sided tape. A search would probably turn it up quickly. Here it is, post #5 http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/181666-Visor-Stickers?highlight=visor+sticker+remove

Interesting thread, though that product shown would not be able to tackle the stickers on these visors (hard top coupe visors). The problem with these are they appear to be rolled on or stamped on (possibly with heat?). They are very thick and just getting one corner to start chunking off was very time consuming. This tool described would never be able to start picking away at the corner/edges, I'd be afraid of damaging the visor. Thanks for sharing this thread though, I didn't find that one when I did my search.
